  1. If you were to do a circle then the veg tan would be creased when someone sits on it. It would then be very homely looking.
  2. You need lots of 8-10oz vegtan leather and you need to weave it to make it strong. You will have to sew it by hand onto the chair. You need a heavy leather like vegtan because you have no idea probably of the weight of people who may come to visit so it has to be strong. I wouldn't cut the strips wider than one inch each. Yes, it will be a lot of work. Do whatever design and stain or dye colour you want first before you attach to the chair.
  3. I sense a little bit of jealousy, Jeff. If you don't want to see a video don't click on it. There is always someone new who wishes to learn from it and the new people can learn from one or 1000 videos. Just some coincide with them better than others.
  4. Barry if we were made to fly we would all have feathers. Get well soon and do not jump out of perfectly good plane.
  5. Blue names have donated. Red names are ambassadors. Depends on what you mean by tags. You get more gallery space, blog space for a donation.
  6. Not Vancouver, love Vancouver but not there. No, thinking of down around Kimberly, Cranbrook maybe even Nakusp. Way cheaper there than in Calgary.
  7. Congratulations! I am so happy that it is working out for you. I would not start anything in my city now we are into a huge recession in this province more than anywhere else. I am hoping to go to BC in a couple of years and do business there. I wish you continued luck and that your business grows exponentially.
  8. I don't see where you don't see any information, this site is brimming with information. Like Grey said, just quit logging on.
  9. not yellow but if you can get white, white will really make it pink.

  11. I would have said add white but there is no white unless one is using acrylic. Either that or put on pink tinted glasses and see what you get.

Ah....good tip. And what happens if you add green to red? Yellow -- the oddest of all the colors. Do you see green in yellow? How about red? It seems to be irreducible, like RGB, but of course isn't. Odd indeed, but odder still is that color itself doesn't actually exist. Now that's strange.

  15. To me a crafter is someone who sits and makes coasters with letters on them or as JLS said a painted bracelet with snaps. An artist is someone who does actual artwork on it or makes it a piece of art. People who design shirts, jackets, bowls, clock etc., are artists. I am doing some designs where the pictures take a great deal of work. I work for hours drawing them until I get it just right then I will trace it onto leather because they are intricate. I believe there are so many different forms of art but it has to appeal to someone to be considered artwork. Therefore if the buyer believes it to be art then the person who did it is an artist.
  16. Things that must be considered. 1. Who is your competition 2. Price 3. Advertising 4 wear and tear on the machine 5 Do you or do they own the dies 6. Are you making them pay for the dies and how much. 7 shipping costs. 8. If you are clicking for them is your time included in the amount. I would buy a clicker if I had the room, it would make all the repetitive stuff easier. I would then advertise the service. This however is a large city with many smaller cities within reach, where others may want said services. Would I use such a service? I most certainly would if it was available for a decent price and timeline.

  24. This is great Cheryl and Andrea and parts of it are hilarious. I had a better time reading it then you did living it.
