no doubt. This place has been a huge help to me over the past year developing my skills and the processes of making holsters. I am really wanting to do this myself though and not just pay some one so thank you Thor and Chan for all the input and practical training. Its awesome we have this resource to help one another out. -

What is a "CSS" file? How do I see the code you are talking about? We use weebly because you literally grab pics and drop them in the pics box and same for text box. I really have no idea what you are talking about. I really appreciate your help I just don't understand. I am not computer illiterate but....... you are waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy ahead of me on this one. How do I resize the photos and what does that mean exactly? I have a photo bucket library I load everything to and then copy and paste it into the pic boxes. So when I write in the box that says text, I put ALT=" yada yada" ? or am I missing something? What does that do? Where do I see the code? -

Actually, me and a buddy did this. He uses Webly, and I have never done any web building/designing. It was super easy. The formatting and set up are very well thought out and the program they use to help you design and build, anyone could do. We built just that page in about 5/6 hours. The rest of the site for his training he had already done a long time ago. Also using Webly you control the site and with the click of a mouse you can change anything and then "republish" the site and it stays live. We forgot to add in a line for addresses and i texted him and he had it on there in 10min. After doing this I feel confident anyone can built a website. Anything you guys would change add or subtract? -

So I haven't been doing this as long as most of you have, just my first year of this still. I get as many tools as i can when i can afford them. I received my leather burnishers.com cocobolo drill style holster makers special on Friday. http://www.leatherburnishers.com/Burnishers_for_Drills.html I can not tell you how much of a difference this has made. I made a couple of oak pieces to do the same and i have the tandy plastic wheel and hand burnisher tool, this tool has taken my edges to a whole new level. I just can not endorse them enough and for the price $38 shipped WOW!! You owe it to yourselves to just try one i guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Edge Finishes
dpip4x4 replied to dpip4x4's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
i have seen folks making lager bags and doing this not to the edges that cant be burnished when finished but, all the edges. My question is, is there a benefit to this? Like you i do the edges i cant do later but i dont do them all. -
Very nice!

Finished A Rifle Scabbard Finally

I'm really not sure what kind of felt I used, brand or weight or what ever. I just went to Joann fabrics and found all the felt they had and literally touched and rubbed everyone they had and decided that way. I wanting something thick but not rough. Soft but not loose knit. I bought a yard and it was enough to do a couple of these if I had too and it was only $3-$4. -

I've been wanting to make a stitching horse, not a pony. I'd like to see yours to get a better idea of what i would like style and function.

Just Getting Started
dpip4x4 replied to dpip4x4's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
no danger on the trigger being depressed. as you push the gun into the holster the front edge of the trigger guard pushes the leather apart until it reaches its destination fully seated into the holster and it "snaps"into place. I like very positive retention, but i hate thumb breaks and similar things so i like very deep definition, one of the reasons i really like kydex. No i do not wrap the gun in cling form, i put them into 2 plastic sandwich bags so i can reuse it for the next one and so forth.
