Tina, we have 276ccm from Norway, the avid airbrusher! Hello and welcome to the board Jonny! As you've guessed I'm Swedish AND living in Sweden too (Gävle 200km north of Stockholm). To learn more in this wonderful craft you have entered the right place. There is tons of awesome stuff and even more awesome artists/crafters here. From elite to beginners. Atmosphere is very friendly and never be afraid to ask questions, no matter how silly you may think they are. There are no such questions and you'll most likely get help with what you need pretty fast from our members. Tom Edit: Oh, we love pics and they are often a good aid in describing a problem too.

Good looking spear sheath! First time I see one around here. Using an awl instead of punching holes would improve greatly on the overall affect I think. Tom

PSP case
TomSwede replied to calanneh's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Sweet case William!!! I can imagine how proud she is! Tom -
That is really a nice gift for your grandson. He'll treasure it when he grows older. Good idea to put numbers and lettering around the edges but you forgot Å,Ä and Ö They pick up more than one imagine I think, even when they're very young. I used to read, read, read and read some more every night to my son and at 11 now he is very litterate. Good job with it, very beautiful! Tom

Both look really cool Freak!!! Love the skull one and it is very nice with the black borders. Tom

I just wish it could fix the temp too, it's too darn cold here;-) Tom

Thank you Darryl, couldn't find my slacker shoes today;-) Thank you Josh, they will be gifts to someone special!! Thank you Jim!!! I had a great tutorial to follow even tough I think I haven't seen the small one you made. I still haven't found the blue stuff you recommended to capture the blueish shine on a raven around Swedish shops. Tom

Welcome to the board Art! Looking very good for your first project! Tom -
Hm missed your reply here sis and I have a feeling you can guess why! Yeah we'll definetly sit down and compare tecniques one day. Tom

Thanks Bro! Great idea but I think they'd get ruined very fast or at least very torn around the thin edges. Sweden is alot about getting in and out of warm sweaters and such + most my bracers end up on people who refuse to get older and partying heavily;-) and that's the occasion when my bracers get used but I'm surprised whenever I see an old one I made. Often they look like almost new and people tell me that they are very careful and treasure them. Also would disturb the design on the bracer I'm doing. Colouring is up now so prolly post tomorrow. Tom

They are fun sys and you'll be surprised how fast they are in the makings too. Just look up Jim Linells tutorial and you're good to go. Ha ha thanks Crystal! Pincet it is!!! I look forward to see your feathers!!! Thank you Luke!!! Tom

Making a new bracer with a raven in the setting sun and thought I'd make a pair of feather earrings to match it. Just gotta chase up a pair of silver earrings now that will suit them. Tom
-
Missed this one, nice to see you did so well Josh especially since I've been following your development all the way and did my first feather a while ago. Looking very good, I don't dare try colouring but what the heck...I'm only interested in ravens feathers anyway;-) Just sitting with a small pair that I thought I'd make earrings out of to match a figure raven carved bracer. Good job! Tom

A new purse....
TomSwede replied to Rawhide's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Wow Marlon!!!! It is stunning, just love the elegance it has! Very beautiful and nice touch with the red border on the strap. Tom -
I use and old wood cutting board (not to hard, not too soft) under the leather when stabbing holes and I just push the awl until there's enough resistence from the board and so I get my holes about the same in diameter. Tom

Welcome aboard the the leatherworker forum!!! You'll discover tons of things and be amazed by some people around here. We've got it all but the most important thing around here is the friendly and sharing atmosphere we have here so never hesitate to ask for help or about peoples work. Sometimes we form a band and play together too ! Tom

Crash Wallet
TomSwede replied to Big Papa Leather's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Looks like you got a good piece together!! Here's a pointer about taking pics, take it before you sheen it because the sheen causes to many glares especially when used with camera flash. Without the sheen you still get close enough to what It really looks like when it is sheened when taking yor pic and it will make it alot easier to really see your work and all its grand glory. Lacing looks fine, nice job! Tom -
Commissioned Wallet
TomSwede replied to Spider's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Heey Bro!! That is a cool looking wallet, me too like the nurse kitty motif!!! A wallet sure is not the easiest thing to plan and construct! Tom -
Very good looking pair of shoes! Alltough a big viking interest and leatherworker I have for some reason managed to never get into the design of the shoes so no pointers from me about construction. The just look soo nice and comfortable. Some sheepskin lining and wow..they'd be so nice to wear a cold winters day, sinking down on the couch with a brew and a whisky;-) Tom
-
It looks very good though you couldn't use it. I really like the stamping pattern on the back. Tom

Welcome to the board Robin!! This place is open 24/7 but off course some IRL practice is the best, still there's tons of stuff here that you may not pick up IRL I think considering the knowledge and creativity gathered here. Some people here are pure artists in what they do. This board is very friendly too so never hesitate to ask any questions. Tom

Thanks Johanna!!!! HA ha that was really easy now that I see the meaning with it. You should see me have a go at those crossword puzzles;-) a kid can beat me any day with that! Hope 2009 will be a great year for you and Wade and the bunch and last but not least, leatherworker.net!!!! Thank you for putting all this up and putting up with all of us;-) Are you joining the party in the backrooms? I get off work in 2½ hours so I might pop in to see if there's whisky left and if Darryl is behaving and keeping those strippers of the premises;-) Darryl;-) Tom

Tack så mycket Johnny! (thank you very much) Last sentence actually came out..eh not so good;-) Gott=good, olov=male name, ethe=not a Swedish word but thanks for trying, that's what is important and I appreciate the fine gesture very much, skål (cheers) Tom
