  1. Thank you. That's something I've learned today! Tony
  2. About time they gave us some back! They've been taking it off us left, right, and centre for years. I'm glad to see they are giving something to Australian residents instead of propping up other overseas countries whose goverment ministers get the biggest cut out of what we taxpayers send them. Tony.
  3. I saw a good block similar to that years ago except it was 3x3 or 4 x 4 and had a different size groove on each side. I've always been meaning to make one but still haven't got around to it!!! Tony.
  4. But, is the stitch tight? I read in a manual (Singer) once that the bight should be in the lower half of the material. Tony.
  5. Is there a conversion scale of needle sizes, metric etc. I use from 160 to 230. Tony.
  6. Can't use that, it might dull the blade. Skin is much easier on knife blades but make sure you clean the blood off.
  7. I've never seen one that small, Ed. Mine is a cartridge gun but I haven't used cartridges since I gave up operating plant, I bought a small tin of grease and just poked it in the gun with a flat stick! As long as it will take a flexible hose and a fitting to go on the nipple it should work ok. Try some place that sells auto parts. Tony
  8. I give it a squirt about every 6 months. I never thought about it when I first got the machine and after a few months of use it developed a rumble which puzzled and worried me for a while 'til I finally discovered what it was and it was running dry!. Tony.
  9. The one I have is a 205-370 and has been a great machine for 11 years and apart from oil all I ever had to do is pump some grease into the reducer. I do wish it had a longer arm sometimes. Tony.
  10. Bruce, when I got my Adler it came with small black spacers that were numbered #160, #180, #200, #230 and #250. These are spacers for those needles. While I don't change them all the time for every size needle I use, I do if I swap from a #160 to a 230. I mostly use #200 and that seems to handle most jobs very well with no sewing problems. Tony.

    G'day

    Whereabouts in Oz, Mitch? Tony.
  13. Thank you very much for you honest answer, John. Tony.
  14. John, what would your cases sell for if they were manufactured in the USA by USA craftsmen? Tony.
  15. Chrome Tanned leather is not necessarily soft! I use it for girth points where there is a lot of stress and strain and it handles weather very well. Tony.
  16. What's that machine, Barra? Tony.
  17. Good down here now. Only about 23 outside, lovely! It was 35 in my workshop, so I did most of my jobs under the ceiling fan!!! Tony.
