Looks good. Reminds me of the calendars the tobacco companies used to issue with racehorses on them. Nice. Tony.

I'm sure the screws would be a better bet than 2 piece rivets,Ruth. Tony.

I'd forgotten all about vulcanizers as I haven't used one for about 30 years plus. BUT I found my old one a couple of days ago but no patches, and it is a "Dunlop 5 Minute Vulcanizer". They appear to be much diff these days.! Here is a snap of it. Tony.

Ray, you really need to get more friends! Join a club or something, or even get a parrot. One shouldn't talk to inanimate objects. Tony.

If you find some, Ruthless, please let me know. I'd also like some stainless ones. Tony.

When I want to touch up the blade on my Osborne splitter, I reverse the blade on the frame (like in the photo) and screw it down tight and it doesn't move. It stays right there, nice and secure. Tony.

They have lots of village fairs in England. You only have to watch a show called Midsomer Murders to see that! Tony.

While looking through some old Make It With Leather mags I came across plans and instructions for making a stitching horse. They are quite detailed and they were in the January 1983 edition. Tony.

Mould making basics for wet forming leather
tonyc1 replied to UKRay's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Many years ago I saw some moulds made from liquid acrylic or such that a hardener was added to to make forms. I never tried it but the bloke reckoned it worked and went hard quick. Tony. -
How do I sharpen the blade on splitting machine?
tonyc1 replied to ruthless's topic in Leather Tools
On the Osborne you can just turn the blade around, screw down tight on the frame again and use that as a means to keep the blade in place as you stone it. Tony. -

You really can't miss where to put the OIL can you? Tony. -
I used a 686 that had been tuned up by a competent gunsmith for several years in competition and, within reason, the D/A was as smooth as silk and I didn't even notice the trigger weight . You just need good accurate loads that will impact where you point the gun and I believe in adjustable sights so the sights can be adjusted to coincide the the group on the target. Tony

Thanks, Art. Tony.

It looks a nice belt, but it is heavier than the 0.8 - 1mm they say it is. I don't think it matters sewing across a trouser belt unless you're like a sumo but I wouldn't do it with any horse gear! Tony.

I bought my Adler from Ferdie's son, Ron, when he had Richland Industrial Machines about 10 - 12 years ago. Where would mine have been made? Tony.
