  1. I'd sooner be living here in Australia than many other places in the world, China!!! Tony.
  2. There has been one of these for sale on ebay for the last 12 months down here. It doesn't have that old stand and they want $4900 for it. There are probably better machines than those these days. Tony.
  3. Pussy looks pretty bored with it all, though.
  4. I usually listen to C & W. I have all music on pc in the workshop and run it through amp and 6 speakers. I think there is enough for it to run for about 40 hours. Some of the main artists are Willie Nelson, Hank Snow, Slim Whitman,Ray Charles, Ray Price, Brian Letton, Curtiss Potter, Eddy Arnold, Johnny Horton, Mills Bros, Marty Robbins and even Roy Rogers and Gene Autry and many others that are not necessarily C & W. Gotta have music when I work! You can guess my vintage by the music I listen to. Tony.
  5. Now, that is very high tech compared to the British one that is usually seen, Old Timer! Tony.
  6. They are everywhere,Ed. Just think how many there would be if they had discovered America or Australia! Tony.
  7. If I intend to do much skiving, I skive on glass. Tony.
  8. I use the setter on the bare rivit ( without the rove ) to make sure it is seated tight, then put the rove on and use the setter again to make sure the rove is down tight and then I nip the excess off the rivit. I then peen it enough to just hold the rove on and then use the setter to put a dome on the rivit, usually one smart hit is enough to do the job. Tony.
  9. No, I think you can get lower grade leather products from India. Absolutely terrible!!! There is a lot of it floating around Australia. Tony.
  10. It looks as if that gun could really kill at both ends, Art!
  11. I just showed this to a friend of mine and he reckons you may develop a flinch and a permanent tic after a box of ammo. Tony.

    BLACKJACK

    Sometimes called a Sap.
  13. Which calibre are those bullets? Tony.
  14. You'd need a big holster for this one but I doubt quick draw wouldn't be quick as it weighs 13.23 lbs. It is a pfeifer - Zeliska 600 Nitro Express. Tony.
  15. I love sailing ships and when at school I drew one and I thought it was great until the teacher took the wind out of my sails by pointing out that sailing ships flags point the way the wind is blowing. I still think you Cutty Sark is great though. Tony.
  16. Here are snaps of my old "nag". I've had it for 40 years and I really don't know how old it would be, as it was ancient when I got it. It appears the timber may have been pretty green when it was made as the seat has a cup in it. The jaws are secured by wedges and the legs are mortised. The closing mechanism is iron which is attached to a sliding foot lever to apply pressure. The foot pedal was almost as worn when I got it so it must have had a lot of use in the heyday of horse transport. I have put a larger seat on the original as it allows me to sit farther back, I reckon the bloke it was made for may have been shorter than me. It was painted green originally. I'm certain that although it is old, it will well and truly see me out!
  17. Sounds like something you might add Eye Of Newt to. Tony.
  18. Yeah, Windy. That's the model I thought you were talking about!!! Tony. PS. You're quick.
  19. You could probably drive a bus through the hole, Cory. Tony.
  20. Did Tim The Toolman sell it to from Binfords??? More Power!!! Tony.
  21. I had occasion to go to a local festival to view some gear I had made for the Lighthorse re - enactment troop and they had a display of Tent Pegging. I didn't realise that swords will bend as much and show no signs of worse for wear. It sprang back into alignment just as new. It's a lot more difficult with the Bayonet! Tony.
  22. I'd never heard the term Box Cutter until 9/11, out here we always called them Stanley Knives. I've used them to cut Plaster Board ( Sheet Rock ) but you are really only cutting the heavy paper coating and then snapping the sheet along the score line and the plaster blunts the blades really quickly. I do sometimes use a clicking knife sometimes but never "Box Cutters". I don't think the blades are as sharp as a knife blade that I can sharpen myself. Tony.
  23. I use one of the presses that I use for Durables to put in 2 piece rivits when I use them, and the adjustment is infinite, or just resort to the good old claw hammer!!!. The rivits I use come from Germany and I never seem to have any problems and they cost about $33.00 per thousand. Tony.
  24. I bought one 30 years ago and it wasn't worth the trouble trying to cut soft leather, it wandered everywhere. I use a roundknife or sharp scissors. Tony.
