Has anyone seen a splitter blade like this before?. The cutting edge has tiny serrations all across it. For what reasons I don't know. Anyone have any ideas? Tony.

I use a Bic.

One of my horse training customers lost 3 horses due to lightning strike yesterday. It rattled our place which is about a mile from his as the crow flys. Tony.

This is correct. When you read something that is written, 2 people can have entirely diff views of the same thing. It's like using the word "bastard" This can be used from an endearment to a downright insult! Written words can be taken the wrong way. Tony.

I reckon it's a great idea as long as it's not personal. Let's people get another person's views of many different subjects. I vote yes. Tony.

It sticks out like a sore thumb now you've mentioned that, Matt. I can't believe I didn't see it before! Good job! Tony. -
Artisan Toro 3000 vs Aerostitch vs Adler 205

Neil, I have an Adler 205-370 for the past 12 years and it sews everything I put in it like you do and I've broken very few needles and switch between different size needles and thread nearly every day for diff jobs. I can repair dirty knee boots and harness that I just brush the mud off, with no trouble. It is used every day and has given very little trouble in it's life. Like yours, mine was made in Germany. If I could change anything about it I'd like the longer arm but it wasn't available when I got mine. Tony. -

The Juki Pro 2000 uses the same needles as the Adler though, doesn't it? Tony. -

I read what you said about the diff in size of bobbins, Ed and I measured the ones that came with my 205 and I measured the bobbins that would be at least 50 years or more old that I used in the Singer 7-5 and they are identical. Standards must have been a lot tighter than they are now. Tony. -

What do you repair, Kevin?. I use mine every day for repairs and new gear and I don't reckon I've broken 20 needles in 12 years. I use from 160 to 230 and have no trouble. Tony. -
Good luck, Jordan. Take the big plunge and come out here to Australia. Tony.

Try Lefflers in Melbourne. Tony.

I like to use lino as it is cheap and size is no limit for what we do. Tony.

I didn't realise that sewing machines had been around that long. Are there any sites re. the development of the sewing machine that you know of, Harry? Tony.

I just don't like ultimatums. I had a girlfriend, between wives, and she said I shouldn't go to the range and shoot on a Sunday morning, but go to church with her and her mother. Mother reckoned it was heathen. Guess what I chose! She said later she was wrong and tried to make amends but I'd already made up my mind and have been happy ever since. Tony.

Looks great, Karl! Why did you only use the Pearson to punch the holes, though? Tony.

I wonder if there is a site on the 'net that gives conversions between metric and other threads like nylon and lines and poly. Tony.

There are no reservations here for raising 'roo! They don't need to do that, as they are everywhere. They are even in some small towns. There are millions across the country. We live about 20 mile from the capital city and we get wallaby in the paddocks and sometimes in the yard. Last year 2 of us shot 1500 of them about 1 mile from my house and hardly made a dent in their numbers. The meat is used for pet food but we do eat a few of them ourselves. It is good leather. Tony.

I always used linen in the Pearsons as I reckoned there was too much stretch in the synthetics and no stretch in linen, it was dead.. It is a long way from the thread clamp to the stitch with the Pearsons and there was a fair bit of stretch with nylon. I seemed to get a much more even stitch with linen thread. I use a lot of nylon with the PVC webbing articles as it does stand up to abrasive wear and tear better than linen, cotton or polyester. Tony.

While we're talking about pets, we have a Pug, it's real name is Zibby and she really belongs to my daughter. We just pay for her food, vet bills and any other expenses like good parents do I guess. Well, I call her Boxhead because that's what I think her head looks like. My wife thinks I'm cruel to refer to her with that name. Tony.
