Ive got a project in the works, and was wondering if there was a tutorial somewhere that could show me how to do the braid that is used on the rear jockeys, the one that youd use to butt joint two flat pieces of leather together

Dont know how limited a budget your on but Barry King has some nice background stamps in both fine and medium.Definately worth the price difference, these are handmade quality stamps, not the chrome drenched stuff that Tandy sells. @25$. Check them out at www.barrykingtools.com

My vote is for Bob Douglas also, although you can save a bit by using Bobs awl in a Barry King haft, about 1/2 the price -
Thanks Jo Thanks King

Sorry to Bump this back up but reallu hoping for a suggestion as this seat is supposed to ship this weekend -
I dyed a seat with Feibings black, then put a coat of Leather Balm w/ Atom wax, after buffing noticed one area on the seat really needs some more dye, coming through with a purplish tint, can I shoot this with some more dye? Do I have to do something to strip the wax off first? Or if this wont work what about using vinagroon over dye? Any help will be greatly appreciated, sure dont wanna break this seat down. Rick

Thanks Cuda for the kind words, I just used a wider beveler, a hackbarth brand, and cut a little deeper since this was some pretty thick hide, 8 oz.
