The Saints aside it was nice to make a seat with a Fluer de Lis, aside from spending my whole life in Louisiana its also the name of my shop, Fluer de Lis Customs. The british flag is there cuz its going on a triumph. Took alittle figuring because of the single spring mount on the bottom, but it turned out to be a great place for my stamp.
Decided to but a small dent in the pile of exotic skins that Ive been accumulating. So I decided to do a couple of inlays to have on hand to show people who may be considering using exotics on their seats. First one is black elephant and the second is tan ostrich with a walnut border
Just recieved a Gore border stamp that I won on Ebay, Man I love this stamp, everything about it, the impression, the type of knurling, everything. Are Gore tools still available from anywhere? If so could I get the contact info
Jerry, theres a guy that sells em on Ebay all the time but theyre usually thick like that, he describes them as "falconry Grade" whatever that means, Im gonna be using it to braid top and bottom leathers together on motorcycle seats in a mexican round braid so Im thinking maybe it'll work
I use alot of Tandy 3/16 Florentine unless the customer wants to pay the extra for kangaroo, Ive never had any problems other than the occasional spool that seems to have a splice every couple of yards
Denise, just a feeling I get, but I somehow think ole Slick prefers to be center stage, at whatever cost!!! Just an opinion, but you know what they say about first impressions, and second, and third.
