  1. Thanks it took a little bit of doing actually as the wallet is a little thick as most of it is made from 4 to 5 0z leather outer covering though is 3 to 4 oz (not 2 oz ) the embossed cow hide in the middle is just a really small piece and it just added a little extra to it I thought. It is stitched and glued to the inner layer. thanks I have another wallet I am currently working on but I am going to return to this design as I think it will make a good biker wallet with just a little bit of twiking
  2. A friend has asked me about leather book binding and as I told her I have only made a couple of leather book jackets so that got me to thinking where can one learn how to bind a book in leather other then just doing a book jacket?
  3. I really like this! are the rivets decretive or there for support?
  4. First time that I have done a design like this. Has 12 card slots, a nice little inlay on the inside (embossed cow hide that looks like gator a bit) and a pocket for a bit of cash or what not. Turned out rather nice I think. Made from a combonation of 2 to 2 oz leather on the outside and 4 to 5 for the inside.
  5. took about 12 hours to tool it, and about a day to dye it, not that long to rivet it so I would say I have about 24 hours or so in to it. The drafting part was the hardest as I have not done that before.
  6. Using imgur to upload the photos as there are a LOT of them, pretty much a step by step as I started the corset, this is the very first corset that I have actually drafted by hand on paper, the corset took about 4 days to do (could have done it in two if life had not gotten in the way!) Going to add a few more shots of me wearing it with the better camera then the cell phone camera http://imgur.com/a/r7Mgf
  7. I really like that and the double loop stitch lace would have held fine really like the look of this.
  8. Left side of the corset tooled and dyed ready to be put together, its coming along slow but steady
  9. This is the very first corset that I have actually drafted on paper, and its also the very first male corset that I have made. As there are a lot of pictures will use imgur for now to show the progress. the two panels I have about 6 MAYBE 7 hours in on tooling and dyeing. this is a ten panel corset but only going to do 8 panels total on tooling I think...I KNOW I will leave the back two panels plain. Going with a steampunk theme on this. As this is the first one I have made I am not using that good of quality of leather just some that I had laying around that I did not like the feel of it for a product that I would actually sell so if I screwed up its not that big of a lose to me. These are just the current photos I have as I continue forward with this. http://imgur.com/a/X3Dq4
  10. I really like that!! Makes me want to try my hand at it one of these days!!
  11. Got bored and figured had a lot of scrap what could I do with some of it, so designed a quick cell phone case, will fit a Samsung S5 Galaxy very easy. Niece in law wants one which means I have to redesign the case as hers is just a tad to big for this style of case currently she can stuff it into the case but has a real hard time pulling it back out again doh! Not sure what she has will have to grab it off her when she is not using it...when she is lseeping basicly lol. Was a bit bored so did a bit of quick tooling both are oxblood but the pinup one is oxblood with black antique gel (playing with the color a bit)
  12. very cool and people have to stop showing these things as it keeps making me want to learn to make boots...and I have enough learning to draft corsets right now lol
  13. damn it another whip that I am jealous of I just can't seem to get my head wrapped around the pineapple knot or a good transition knot for some reason!
  14. Love the braid work jealous of the transiton knot as I still have not fully figured out how to do a proper transition knot!
  15. I like that lol or just lazy people who do not like their jobs much and that is another good idea thanks Bob!
  16. go to any craft store they will have them and cheap I got the zipper from lincraft (a craft store) got 6 of them and all you do is just cut the end off to where you need it and just stitch the zipper in place. I mean it is a short pouch so you really do not need any expensive zippers.
  17. Thanks Halitech I hate carrying coins and Australia has a crap load of them so I just make the wife carry the shrapnel so didn't bother making a coin pouch for the wallet, really a personal choice also keeps my wallet from being over stuffed!!
  18. Gave it a worn kind of look to this leather, simply used 60 grit sand paper on the leather, dyed it, sandpaper, dyed, sandpapered then went over with a finer grit of sand paper one last time and dyed the leather for the final time came out pretty good I think. made form 4 to 5 oz leather. its rather sturdy which I like and doesn't feel flimsy to me like a 3 to 4 oz leather wallet does. A truly MANNLY man's wallet lol sorry could not help that. Hand stitched all the way around. The pocket with the zipper I use for keeping my house keys in it and that is about it, oh and an angle pendent that my wife gave to me shortly after I was run over by a car, to help "protect and heal me" have had that pendant for 16 years now...and she gave that to me before we were even husband and wife ahh getting sentimental in my old age...ah the joys of turning 40 lol
  19. cool thanks for that Leder and great idea!!!
  20. That is a really cool idea. Wife had a good question how does the phone stay in place as there are no sides to it from what we can see?
  21. I had not thought of using a safety beveller like that!! will give it a try!
  22. way to late to return it silerwingit have had this hide for some time now and thanks for the idea Comrad!
  23. that is pretty cool looking!
  24. Thanks all and I thought that that would be the only option but prefer to get advice from people with more knowelege then I have (which is not hard only been doing this for about a year now lol) and ugg sanding lots and lots of HAND sanding...some days I honeslty hate my idea about no machiniery touching the leather once it gets to me...doing things old school can be a pain!!!
