  1. Love it how did you do the scales? really love the design!!! Can't wait to see the finished project!
  2. A nice trible design with a mexican circular basket weave applique was fun working out the design of this one. And as always everything is done by hand
  3. The "plan" (not sure how well it will happen lol) is to put this on a journal cover. Its a bit of a tribal design using one of tandy's craft aids, and a circular mexican basketweave applique.
  4. nice and a good idea on using the sam brown button for a closer
  5. Here we go one fully finished Leather book jacket, did a mexcian basket weave on the spine looks great like I thought it would! Not bad for a first attempt at this kind of thing. By the way the LB is for leather braiding which is what the book is titled hehe a bit cheezy but hey!
  6. Been so long since i bought this piece of leather i do not remember to be honest.
  7. Well it was suppose to be veg tanned according to tandy (who i get my veg tanned leather though though thinking of trying antoher sourse here in australia ) will post pic of the jacket when i am done.
  8. Just wanted to see if I could do it, not totally finished iwth it as I am going to try and do a mexican basketweave laceing on the spine but so far this is what I have. Just wanted to use up a little bit of leather and the leather i used just does not want to take to stamping for some reason I have even tried casing the leather for 3 days even oiled the hell out of it and still doesnt want to take a stamp ah well for an expermental piece came out ok. Used a simple double loop stich around the outer edge just because id id not want to get to fancy.
  9. Thanks keplerts love how it says free and most everything has a price on it lol will have a look through it though
  10. Any style really though shoulder or cross body would be preferred
  11. Ok been looking around the net and this forum as well and not comming up with a lot of options might just be my searching sucks currently but looking for some good purse patterns. Let me say this a bit better but a hand bag, not a coin purse (have a crap load of those pattersn laying around here some where lol).
  12. Actually not a kit i cut the pieces my self i have the plans for it lol. And I totally agree with you about every thing you said about the lacing and getting it all snugged up even pulling as hard as i could i still couldn't get it as snug as I would have liked...its why i used roo lace because you can put some heavy torque on it and it will not break. Dont have neatsfoot oil will have to get some thanks for the advive. Would aussie conditioner workor not?
  13. Thanks richard55 this thing is a pain to close though think time will fix that as the leather gets used.
  14. It has a kind of retro vib to it, it's from a pattern from tandy, not the best thing i have done not the worse by far. Held together with kanagroo lace and a bit of waxed thread and that is it. really must find some patterns for purses!
  15. stunning!
  16. Been meaning to post a photo of this, its an underbust corset but what I really like about this pattern is the center pieces are interchangable this one just has three center pieces but a person could make a lot of center pieces and just go a bit crazy with the design aspect of it, and it also allows the wearer to have 3 or more corsets in one.
  17. Just finihsed this over the new years (gave me an excuse to avoid the family for most of the day lol) simple and made for looks not actuall funtion though to be hoenst I have never trusted leather armour in the first place, and I am a ren fair one of the few crazy enough to joust man to man also heavy weapons, from axes to hammers, give me metal armour over leather armour anyday (though do love the leather armour for looks!). Have another neck collar I am going to build some time over the weekend.
  18. Brian first cool work second correct me if i am wrong but conserning the glove would you not have to have padding in different areas depending on the type of bird depending on the where the bird wants to sit on arm or fist?
  19. The pattern to make this is easy enough, just takes 2 rolls of duct tape, a dress maker's maniquine and a sharpie amazing what tools we use in leather working isn't it.
  20. Ok FINALLY got around to finishing this corset one of those projects that just kind of got pushed to the side over and over again for what ever reason. Its made from 8 to 9 0z leather which makes it VERY thick so no need for boning (not to mention it was a real pain to get the pannels to met up like I wanted to ended up having to cut it because the leather just did not have the ability to truely flex like I wanted). all hand cut and hand sewn and trust me that is abit of hand sewing! Ended up using some kangaroo lace as well that I had strong stuff when its about a 1/4 inch wide.
