  1. Tina, Those are amazing, I love the vibrant color. Sure wish that kind of color could survive on a bike seat....But, I'll have to change products to utilize bright color. Maybe someday. Great work, Dave Theobald
  2. The lacing is finished. Assembly starts tomorrow. Hope you like the results so far. Dave
  3. Thanks for all the kind words folks, it is truely appreciated. Now I get to start the part that I really enjoy. The seat front is going to get the full decorative lace treatment. I do love to lace. Thanks again, Dave Theobald

  6. Hey Tom, It is going to be far from plain. I'm doing a side view of an evo engine. Kinda challenging at this small size. I'm anxious to see how it turns out. Dave
  7. Decided to post the latest seat.It is for a different seat pan so there was pattern drafting involved....one of my least favorite things to do.I ordered my leather from Wickett and Craig. Day two, The seat back was pretty much finished.
  8. Ryano, Welcome to the board. You'll find everyone here friendly and willing to help. I too live in Ohio. But way down south near Cincinnati. If you are ever in the area, stop in to the Cincinnati Tandy store and tell them Dave sent you.....that and a buck will probably get you a cup of coffee. Enjoy the site, By the way, I'm into the motorcycle thing too. David Theobald
  9. Bob, your work is beautiful. first the organizer and now the folio. Both are amazing pieces of work and exhibit your talent for pattern creation. i think both are outstanding. David Theobald

Barry, Beautiful site, I have all your bevelers, and use nothing but them. I have a suggestion....How about putting together a list of the tools used on the extremely small Sheridan work that you do. Like the belt you had at Columbus. I'm still in awe of that belt and would love to own tools capable of doing Sheridan of that size. Love the site David Theobald
  11. Looks good Scott, I'm sure it will be enjoyed for a long time. Dave
  12. WOW, How did I miss this? What a beautiful job, I love it. Nothing to criticize, as perfect as it gets. I especially like the three piece approach. It's very classy looking. Great job. David
  13. Hey sorry for not responding, I just saw this thread.... I use Leather Balm with Atom Wax on my tan seats.... Neat Lac for the black ones just to prevent crocking.... rubbing off of the black dye. I will sometimes add a final, final finish of Fiebings' Aussie leather conditioner. Dave
  14. Happy Birthday Jim, Hope that elk hunting was good! Thanks for the great tutorial at the Cincinnati Tandy store. Dave Theobald
  15. Practice, practice, practice....do those three letters about 10-20 times on scrap leather, you'll be ready to give it a shot on your final piece....NOTHING gives that custom touch like hand cut and beveled lettering in a type face that is totally custom.... check out dafont.com for really custom lettering that is free. David Theobald
  16. I love the clean crisp style, best wallets I've seen in a long time. I would carry one of those! Dave
  17. I'll bow to Luke's definition, I'm no mountain man for sure... I just always hear the term about a hundred times when ever I go to Friendship, IN. David
  18. Possibles bags are used for carrying supplies of blackpowder shooters, the bag can contain any thing you could possibly need for hunting. Dave
  19. Nicely done, That is how a business starts. Dave
  20. Hey Tom Looks good. Hard to tell the size but if it is for a Road King, It must be pretty big. keep up the good work. Dave
  21. In a word .... yes. It will cause some dye to move around a bit. It especially happens to antiquing paste. Be sure to put a resist on anything you don't want to pick up surrounding stain or antique.Black is especially bad for moving around with leather balm. I have taken up rubbing neat lac into my seats using cloth when I have black on the seat. Thanks for the kind words on the seatDave Thanks Tomhaven't seen you around in a while.
  22. Tina, Wonderful as always, can you point me in the direction of a "how to" on the two-tone mexican round braid? Thanks, Dave
  23. The finish was all Fiebings spirit dye. A combination of medium brown, saddle tan and buckskin, Then Fiebings antiquing paste to accent the tooling. I think I used Sheridan paste for that. A final coat of Fiebings Leather Balm with atom wax and it is finished. How long it lasts is kind of up to the owner. It will need cleaning with saddle soap and polishing with some sort of paste. I usually tell folks to use Kiwi neutral shoe polish. It is a product that they can find at Walmart. Dave
