The OCC Schwinns are very heavy bicycles....at least for kids....but for an adult with stronger legs, they can be a lot of fun....especially decked out like this one. Nice work. Dave

So, you're the guy who bought up all of Wickett and Craig 7/8oz. russet. ha ha Just kidding, I buy that weight in russet trimmed double shoulders....they didn't have any so I ended up buying a couple backs. A lot more leather but their stuff is so beautiful.... Great supplier. Great looking sheaths as always. I love looking at your work....I started out making sheaths and look where I ended up....I sort of got side tracked. David Theobald -
I also thought they were a viable supplier, I'm personally not too sure they are going to make it. To be without a catalog for over 2 years tells me they are not real serious about producing a new one. Dave

Very nice case, I think the carving would have shown better on a lighter color case but you probably do as I do and make the product the color that the customer wants. Dark colors always seem to hide excellent carving. It would also appear that you and Shelly use very different weights of leather. Shelly, I love the way you allowed the floral work to cover the undulating border. That's a very classy touch. David Theobald

It all depends what sort of job you are applying for..... lawyer in a big corporation?? you better shave. Factory worker for the same company?? you're ok.... at some place on the food chain is an invisible wall that requires a razor to pass. Dave

My Son was looking for a holster today for a 9mm Glock. He came across the site of Milt Sparks and the Versa Max 2 holster. Apparently it is offered in either Horse hide or Cow hide. I'm quoting him here, I haven't read everything on the site. They claim better moisture protection with Horse hide? What do the experts here think? And what would be the cost of a versa max type holser from you guys. Dave Theobald

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that is illegal in most states.... WOW that is amazing. Kinda makes me want to go spend a few weeks practicing this stuff..... Dave Theobald

Some of us may remember Paul Cox as the right-hand-man of Indian Larry. He was featured on many Biker Build-Offs a few years back (shown on the Discovery channel). Paul is a commercial artist by training; and a motorcycle fabricator by the sweat of his brow. Paul and other fabricators tried to make a go of Indian Larry's shop after his untimely death. I understand that he has now left Indian Larry Legacy and has opened a shop of his own in the New York area. Berserker was his own personal bike that he built while working with Larry at Gasoline Alley. It has become a modern day classic....(Sort of like George Barris' Hirohata '49 Mercury in the custom car world). It is always pointed to as the ultimate true chopper. The bike shows amazing attention to detail. Check out those pictures closely, it is really amazing. Every inch of the bike has its own special character. To top off everything else....Paul seems to be a really nice guy. You can see some additional pics of the bike at http://www.paulcoxleather.com/berserker.shtml David Theobald

Frog, Absolutely beautiful. I like the way you let the design be interrupted by the pickups and such. If this isn't your best work, it is close. What are the dye/stain plans? David Theobald

A BIG WOO HOO INDEED. Congratulations Ian. It is a real hoot to see your work in print. Dave Theobald

Here is my entry for the month. I use the Stohlman's bird also .... I use it for a decorative element on the back side of a seat. It is relatively simple to do. Less time consuming than a lot of basketweave stamping. Dave Theobald

Looks great Roger, What did you put on that black leather? Looks really nice. Dave Theobald

Hey Roger, Very nice work, I'm not much of a skull guy; but it is interesting how many skulls you worked into the design. The shading work looks great and adds a lot of depth and detail to the piece. The backgrounding leads me to ask if it is going to be black; because the pebbling really helps define the design on a black seat. I was struck by how readable the Destination Destroyer seat was even though it was dyed black also. That was purely because of the backgrounding. Good work, Dave
