  1. I rarely do that anymore--order something for one holster. A good example would be a call I got a few years ago from a TV Judge up in New York. He wanted a holster for some pistol (I can't recall which) that wasn't a real popular model. However, Ring's had a Blue Gun for it, so I ordered one. The guy never ordered, (he expected it for free) and I've never used the Blue Gun. We live, and learn.
  2. Forums, and social networking (facebook, Twitter, etc.). Followed by eBay, Etsy, Gunbroker, etc. I'd say the best way to draw attention (which is step one) would be participation on forums and on social networks. I'd also exercise discretion on both. Most gun-related forums are hypersensitive to actual selling within the discussions. Make your presence known, but don't push product unless it's acceptable in the rules. As for eBay, Etsy, etc., make certain you're aware of the fees--both at the front-end, and the final value kiss at the end. eBay will nail you front to back, and PayPal gets a piece, too. But, eBay has a huge number of potential buyers.
  3. Excellent topic! I wholeheartedly agree with Lobo and JLS. In addition to the "responsibility" factor in holding all funds until they're earned, you also reduce your stress levels. It's not yours until after you have a happy customer.
  4. Nyis it's generally 3/4 or 4/5 oz. Most recently I split 4/5 oz chrome-tanned American Bison down to about 2 oz (paper) for a liner. It worked beautifully.
  5. I love mine. It's done a beautiful job on both veg and chrome-tan. And it will shave it down thin. If I had a regret, it would be that I didn't buy this thing ten years ago! (I've had mine about a year).
  6. That's an awesome display. Heck, I'd leave it in there. Unless you wanna send it to me?
  7. That's an amazing find! I know that Ray and Bob Dellis were roommates for several years, and that he taught Bob. He also made most, if not all of his own tools. They both worked together at Porter's, many years ago. I'd love to hear more stories, and learn more history about both of these guys.
  8. Congratulations Steve! As you know, I bought my first one from you before you ventured out on your own, and my second just a few months ago. The machines are great, but the true value for me--and many others too, based on the comments--is the man behind the company. I know I can call anytime, with any question, and the solution to any problem. Hell, you can't buy that anywhere. Thanks Steve! You rock it man!
  9. Congratulations! I'm guessing you're gonna be seeing holsters in your sleep!
  10. I think this is what you're looking for... Thank you, sir. I still have a lot of room for improvement, but you made my day.
  11. Thank you, everybody. The leather weight is 7/8 oz. Micah, I split the liner down to 3/4 oz. at the buckle/fold, and leave the face full thickness. Shooter...LMAO! Don't tell anybody! Rayban...You're right, and I'm workin' on 'em. I'm gonna try Bob Park's method. He's got it goin' on. C.J...Thank you. I wish I could take credit for the double keepers, but the customer gets that. The buckles are from Weaver. www.LeatherSupply.com. I've dealt with them for years, and highly recommend.
  12. Haven't posted anything in a while. These aren't for sale...I wanted to put a picture up for you to take a look at and give some feedback. Positive or negative, please comment. I'd like to know what you think--good or bad--and why. Any feedback's appreciated. Both are crosscut with a border stamp. Hermann Oak premium leather--tanned in the USA--dual-layer/doubled and stitched with solid brass buckles and Chicago screws. Both 1 1/2" in width, and 1/4" thick. The top one is black cherry, and the bottom is black.
  13. Jeremiah Watt's got a set of DVD's that I highly recommend. You can find them here http://www.ranch2arena.com/videoeng.html
  14. Absolutely stunning! That's one of the most beautiful holsters I've seen, bar none. VERY well done!
  15. That's just flat-out amazing. Beautiful, as always Bobby.
