So I have checking out all of my new catalogs and ebay and I have notice this thing called a "creaser?" Are they releated "job wise" to the bone folder? How are the same or diffferent? Where would you use a "Creaser?" Appreciate it.

Awesome and thanks for the tip. But for me, hell, I got to learn what a saddle is and how to make one before I attempt any restoration. Good luck

I would have to concur with TT. Water content and possibly a heavy hammer or maul? Also, I would reinterate that you hold firm pressure down on the tool once you determine the position and place you want the tool to stamp before striking it. Good luck

I am unfortunately opposite of you. I have to make this a hobby because as long as I am having fun in a hobby atomsphere, I am okay. The moment it becomes "work" or full time job, I start to lose interest quickly and then I end up hearing from the boss why I haven't touched my tools, blah, I am so glad to hear that you are doing well. If you bought a machine then things are picking up for you. I am still stick doing things by hand and that is okay with me. I am waiting for my new rub sticks to easy the pain from using my Tandy slicker. Hey, I did want to inform you if you saw the ad in the latest Leather Crafter's & Saddlers Journal? I know that you were looking at producing stitching horses? There is an ad for someone wanting to talk to a person that makes them. The person's name is Terry...215-288-2115.....Give him a call and see if you can get some work? Good luck!

WOW, what a great opportunity. I appreciate it and I am no where near buying a sewing machine. But I would like an old long arm patch treadle sewing machine to place in the corner only. I really enjoy hand sewing, but if things ever speed up, I hope this offer is still available. Thanks again!

Hilly: my other half would agree with you in describing my closet. Tim: I just read your article on the cell phone holder in LCSJ. Interesting. I just received my box full of LCSJ's from Frank and have been going through them carefully. As for the pictures, they were sent to me by my ex partner in Cali. They are all made up. The are made to look like posters, but are really not posters. I just use them for a desktop background and just rotate them.

I appreciate the quick response PhilK, but I was asking about purchasing them by the volume (set of mags) and not individual magazines. I am very interested in the year 1967 if available. Thanks.

The seller willing to split the package? I am looking for a couple of volumes here and there? Thanks.

I just thought I share these photographs with you guys & gals. It was not related to leather, but since a lot of you are gun related leather workers and current/ex LEO's, I found these to be great background photographs. I hope you enjoy!!

Way to go JBird. I can't wait for enough work to buy one. Good luck.

U/G You might try another finish like Satin Sheen, Tan Kote or even Bee Natural RTC finish? I have all 3. Your profile sez you live in Austin. I live in Round Rock, I would be willing to bring them over if you would like try each of them before you buy them all? That way you will find out what works. I have used the Fiebings Oil Black Dye on a recent belt with Eco-Flo super sheen and I have not received a high gloss. I have posted the belt pictures on here. You can see them on my face book page? Might be worth a try. PM and let me know if you would like to meet....No problem on my end. Good luck

I happened to see a Tally Book project recently. As most of us do, I opened it and started studying it for future reference. I noticed that the maker had lined the inside with suede? It was a think piece and not heavy "looking." Now, I know that I have ready here that many makers line their projects with a small weight Veg-Tan leather. I was just wondering if anyone uses suede as a lining and why? Also, what do you use to line your projects? Thanks.

So I saw this swivel knife on ebay offered by a dude named Michael Kos from San Diego, CA. I had never seen such a knife and I happened to own most of the others offered on the market. I decided to buy one in a .357 cal size. After receiving it and trying it out on the attache case that I had started at the time, I wrote the maker back and offered some suggestions and pictures. He was very smart to ask about my other swivel knifes that I owned and how his performed against them. After taking this information, he decided to purchase some other equipment and made some changes to his first knife. The latest is now out and I just received my new swivel knife this time in the .45 Cal size. I got to tell you guys & ladies. Very smooth action, sweet rolling saddle and knurling that is comfortable yet gripping for the fingers without cutting your skin. I am posting the latest picture here along with some project pictures for you to see. Another satisfied customer, Manuel. Thanks for listening.

Wow! For having so many irons in the fire (not leather related), the Smith Company is top notch! The products are very reasonably price. Can't beat their customer service.
