  2. I appreciate the information. I am in search of that large straight. I will keep your site in mind. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks for the notice. What kind of leather (tooling) do you carry, if any? Also, do you have any of the Large barb wire set in the Pro crafter series?
  4. I will take your 1993-94 partial issues (all). Let me consider your volumes. I can pay through paypal. Let me know. Thanks

    Grange Fair Time

Wow, I wish I could slap anything and make smell like those roses, I mean look like those roses. Fabulous job Tim. Congrats.
  7. I just bought a set of HideCrafters, but they are out of the big size. They are the Procrafter series, so they are one step above craft japan, but below Barry King.
  8. Stohlman's book on belts recommends 8-9oz for men's belts and 6-7 oz for curved female belts. Hope this helps.

    new tool

Hey Bearman Would you turn and sell just the handles for say my BK mauls? Having arthritic issues in both hands, the smaller handles are hard to keep a constant grip. I have a Maul Master with the larger foam grip that it works better, but the weight is too heavy that my shoulders give out. I was just wondering if you would do these as replacements? Thank, SAM
  10. Here is another question. What about the myth of removing the 'backing' from the leather and not the leather from the backing for fear that it will 'stretch?' I don't use acrylic, I have heard of it, but I use either poster board or packaging tape. As for the posterboard, on some thinner leathers I just leave it on after I am done tooling and before lining as a stiffiner. The packaging tape I removed like on the belts. This something that I do, not something that was taught. Of course, others have told me to use a thicker leather on these projects and no gluing is necessary? What is your opinion?
  11. Rawhide We have a couple of braiders in our guild. I cornered one of our braiding members this morning over Bfast and asked him if he could put on a class for our guild members on a simple braiding project or two. Since the levels of experience vary, I asked him to keep it simple to start and build from there. While I had him cornered I inquired about teaching a beginners and intermediate class for other folks in the area like you. I know that you wanted me to keep you updated. He is willing to do this so, Danny and I are going to be working with him to hopefully get these off the ground. Hopefully, I will be able to post a small tutorial after our guild class in the coming months. I will keep you up to date if you are still interested. And, as always with me, everyone near here is invited to attend the non-guild classes. We have to figure out the costs and we will post something. Good luck
  12. Nice water bottle cover. I also like that square cover. Clean, very clean.
  13. Which one of Bruce's books are you looking for? I have the original printed braiding book and the one for sale in the Tandy stores now? BTW that first Stohlman book wouldn't happen to be the doodle pages book 2 or 3?
  14. I have a sister in Rancho Cucamonga. It is a nice and quiet place, I really like it. I almost moved their until this job came through here in TX. I would move to Rancho in a hard beat if a job came up. I just had a semi friend get a job in Upland and she was born/raised here in TX. I spoke with her just recently and she loves it. Now, Upland is between LA and San Bernadino. The sister is talking about moving here to TX. She has a beautiful home, affordable, more than LA. Unfortunately, it takes her 1 1/2 hours to drive 24 miles. I believe we have a few members here from that area. Kustom? Harvey? I can't remember right now. Anyways, try them. I know that Anne (N) is a valley girl and she moved from Ft. Worth. Stand Bear Trading is in the valley, but check in with them. Good luck.
  15. Gotta check in on Al Shelton's Studio, the Autry Museum and while you are there I would rather head south to Newport Beach or Huntington then Venice. Too many people for me. Maybe Santa Monica Pier, maybe. Good luck and enjoy your trip.
  16. Yea, but at least use it to get some ideas or even a pattern template. I understand what you are saying, just an idea. Good luck
  17. try and google "Motion Bump Case" and see what comes up. I had one of those from work and they issued us bump cases. You might find it is cheaper on ebay, really. Or at least buy one cheap and use is as a template. It is kinda neat, it has a metal bracket sewn to the back that allows it to sit up like a picture frame. Good luck.
  18. Welcome to the forum. I think you will feel comfortable here, so sit back and relax.
  19. Greetings and welcome to the forum. Sit back and enjoy!!
  20. Just FYI. There some horse murdering going on in Florida right now. Ranches are being staked out and when the owners are not around or in the middle of the night, theives are going into the stable to get at the horses. They kill the horses, crave them up, taking mostly their meat and hides and splitting leaving the carcass behind for the owners to find and deal with it. There is no more information but they believe it is some form of band of subject because they are working really quick. Police have no information. Just thought I throw that out for this thread and all of you horse owners in that region.
  21. try a permanent marker or nail polish? You might have to try and rough up the end. Or wait until you don't have to count on the actual # but style of tool. Good luck
  22. WOW What a catch for Tandy. Thanks for sharing.
