Help! With A Repair On A Case
RMB Custom Leather replied to RMB Custom Leather's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Thats what I was thinking. If anyone is intrested in this repair job let me know I will pass him onto you. -
I have been asked to repair this antique gun case and try keeping the appearance matching as close as possible. What type of sewing machine would sew this? I am assuming some type of machine that sews shoes. I don't think I can help him with my class 3 or even hand sewing the way it is put together. If anyone has some information on where to point my customer that would help like the type of machine needed and who may have one would be great.

That one sounds better made than the one I used, mine was all plastic.

Here is the Blue guns part number if the air soft doesn't work out for you FSUSP9. In my experience using the air soft guns is that they tend to not be as durable, may just be me but mine is in pieces now.

A few months ago I was looking to buy some Blue guns however I couldn't find any specific recommendations on what models I should get, like you I was not wanting to blindly buy blue guns that I would not be getting holster orders for. I have collected the below data from actual sales over the past few months and hope that this will be helpful information to those who are looking to start purchasing blue guns. I will be posting a starter package in another posting soon which will have a minimum order amount along with a discount. I also am exploring a rental program and stocking more part numbers to increase shipping time but i will post it in another posting also. The highly recommended models are in bold print: FSBPX4-40 - Beretta PX4 Storm .40 S&W FSBPX4SC9 - Beretta PX4 Storm Sub Compact 9mm FSBT380 - Bersa Thunder 380 FSBT45 - Bersa Thunder 45 FSBHPCL - Browning Hi Pwr Cocked & Locked FS1911 - Colt 1911 FS1911C - Colt 1911 Commander 4" FS1911CCL - Colt 1911 Commander Cocked & Locked 4" FSCZ75 - CZ75 FSG17 - Glock 17/22/31 FSG17-TLR1 - Glock 17/22/31 W/ TlR1 Tactical Light FSG19 - Glock 19/23/32 FSG21 - Glock 21 FSG26 - Glock 26/27/33 FSG30 - Glock 30 FSG34 - Glock 34 FSG36 - Glock 36 FSG37 - Glock 37 FSUSP9C - H&K USP 9mm Compact FSUSP45 - H&K USP .45 FSKP380 - Kahr P380 FSKPM9 - Kahr PM9 FSMAK - Makarov FSNAA22MR - North American Arms .22 Mini Revolver FSP89 - Ruger P89 FSGP100 - Ruger GP100 4" FSSP101 - Ruger SP101 3" FSLCP - Ruger LCP FSLCR - Ruger LCR FSLC9 - Ruger LC9 FSSR9 - Ruger SR9 FSSR9C - Ruger SR9 Compact FSKP95 - Ruger KP95 DAOPR15 FSP220 - Sig P220 FSP226 - Sig P226 FSP228 - Sig P228 FSP229 - Sig P229 FSP238 - Sig P238 FSP239 - Sig P239 FSP250C - Sig P250 Compact FSMOS - Sig Mosquito FSXD9101 - Springfield XD9 4" FSXD9102 - Springfield XD40 4" FSXD9802 - Springfield XD40 Sub-Compact 3" FSXD9402 - Springfield XD40 Tactical 5" FSXD9611 - Springfield XD45 4" FSXD40 - Springfield XDM 40 FSPX9105ML - Springfield Operator 1911-A1 5" FSPX9105MLCL - Springfield Operator Cocked & Locked 5" FSPX9109L - Springfield 1911 A1 5" FSPX9109LCL - Springfield 1911 A1 Cocked & Locked 5" FSPX9801L - Springfield Micro Compact 1911 3" FSSWMP40 - S&W M&P 40 4.25" FSSWP40C - S&W M&P 40 Compact 3.5" FSSWP945 - S&W M&P 45 4.5" FSJ - S&W J Frame 2" FSK - S&W K Frame 4" FS60-3 - S&W Model 60-3" FSBG380 - S&W Bodyguard .380 FS24/7 - Taurus 24/7 FSM85 - Taurus Model 85 FSTJ4510 - Taurus 4510 The Judge 3" FSTJ4510PD - Taurus 4510 The Judge 2" Public Defender FSPPK/S - Walther PPK/S FSP38BP – Walther P38 FSSA5.5BP - Revolver 5-1/2" Barrel FSSA7.5 BP - Revolver 7-1/2" Barrel

Distributor For Ring's Blue Guns - One Time Offer

Thank you for the feedback. I know someone else on here explored that before but my concern would be all the shipping that would have to be paid and wheatear it would be cost effective for the customers. I will think about it. Snap Quality
RMB Custom Leather replied to JeffGC's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I had the same problem when I bought the hand press from Tandy's (piece of crap) I ended up buying the Weaver foot press and love it very much well worth the money -
It really depends on the size of the die you are cutting. I have the large tippmann and have had trouble with dies cutting that are close to or larger than the size of the cutting area like picture frames and a rifle sling die. You can feed the die into the machine and make a couple of cuts if it becomes hard to cut but be careful not to bend your die. I would recommend a swing arm press I now wish I had one put you can't beat the tippmann for the size and because it runs on air.

How Do You Cover A Belt Clip With Leather?
RMB Custom Leather replied to Ladykahu's topic in How Do I Do That?
Take a look here http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_store/item799-31701.html this is what I use. -
Here is what Bluegus sent back when I asked about the amount of pressure. I was hoping for a poundage or something like that but it sounds like just trial and error. I guess if it was a big problem they would know more details about it so that is good. I order all my guns without the top coat unless my customer requests otherwise. " Se sell about 100 Holster makers and have no problems to date from any one. Should be no problems. Remember to tell us when ordering not to put the final finish on the guns as we use a leather dye on the final finish. Carl Ring"

Funny that you posted this because I just got the latest flyer with the 20 ton press on sale for $149.99 the cheapest I have saw it http://www.harborfre...ress-32879.html (need to get the coupon in the flyer at the store to get the sale price). A press has been on my list for some time so I hope you get some good feedback on your posting because next I need to find where to buy the rubber and at what hardness I will get a ruling from BLUEGUNS and post it about the pressure I do know that some models have steel rods in them which may help.

Help! Sharpening Clicker Dies?
RMB Custom Leather replied to RMB Custom Leather's topic in Leather Tools
They do resharpen them, just would cost alot to send it to them but may have to do it. -
Does anyone know how to sharpening clicker dies? I got a rifle sling die from Texas dies about a year ago and have used about 30-40 times and it is now so dull it will not cut. I have heard that you have to sharpen it with a Dremel which I have had someone do but it only made it duller despite how sharp it feels. I have a message into Texas dies on how to sharpen it. Any help would be good. I am using the large Tippmann and feeding the die into the machine which takes two clicks but was working well until now.

Botac Bluegun Drop Shipped
RMB Custom Leather replied to George B's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I have been contemplating just going ahead and stocking all the models. I got into the Blue Guns mainly to get my own to make holsters but saw that there was a need for us leather workers. I think the difficulty for the dealers is that it is very hard to predict what models to keep in stock since the profit margin for the dealers is not very high. I had planned to keep some in stock but quickly saw that it was best to do like most of the dealers and drop ship since I had some experience in the knife business drop shipping before. I have saw that my decision was right because I had planned on stocking the common ones like the Glocks,1911's and so on but since I started selling them it is hard to predict what everyone will buy. I have sold mostly guns I didn’t think I would like the weighed or black in color custom guns. On a side note… I process the orders with Blue Guns as soon as the order is placed so my shipping seems to be running about 7-10 days for delivery for the most part except for a few that may have taken 14 days. I am still working out the details with them so I can track and keep my customers informed on an ETA. I am not sure if I am doing anything different than the rest of the dealers but I don’t screw around when placing the orders so I think that has a lot to do with it. The only issue I have had so far is one customer who said he didn’t get one of the two guns he ordered but he waited a month to let me know about it. I stayed on Blue guns until they looked into it and found that they had manually checked off the guns as they packaged it, produced a shipping receipt that showed the weight which was consistent with what two guns would have weighted, and they don’t have any guns like it lying around because it was an odd custom order. Not really sure who to believe but if it happens again I will be making some decisions on how I do things. I am working on my site to take off the inventory on hand because the software makes me put a number in the field in order for the item to show on my site so the number on hand is not correct. I explain the inventory on hand thing a couple times on my site but still some people just can’t figure it out. Please don’t take my post as advertising I am a leatherworker foremost but enjoy helping out when I can. Hopefully I have explained a few things that will help with the Blue Gun shipping due to my own experience.
