    We don't have a Christmas event like that, and obviously no castles, but the SCA group north of me has a merchanting event at the end of January called "A Market Day at Birka." It's been going for nearly 20 years now, and I understand it's the largest one-day event in the SCA, drawing nearly 3000 people. It'll be my first event as a merchant -- I have a lot of work to do!

    Wow, nice! I really like it. If I were going to put backgrounding anywhere, I think I'd do inside the mouth and behind the flames of the eyes; it'll give them depth. Can't wait to see it all finished!

    Go to a fabric store, and ask in the quilting department for circular quilting templates. They come in sizes from 1"-6". You can just draw around them. For a circle larger than that, get a pin, a string, and a Sharpie marker and make a compass. :-D

    I can't do it in Word, because I can't overlap the stars with the text box containing the (now HUGE) curved text, and I can't take that stars graphic out of Word and put it into Photoshop. Did you make it in Word, or do you have that graphic in another format?

    Look for templates. Word2007 has a ton of postcard templates that would probably work. In previous versions, you look under File>Open>Template, I think. Alternately, you could get business cards printed up with the info on both sides. MOO.com does gorgeous laminated cards that I bet would work really well.

    I use the smaller end of this: http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/product...?number=8039-05 Be sure to sharpen the end you want to use; it's so much easier to cut the leather fibers than to tear them.

    I used gold craft acrylic on several items, including the wallet that I use every day. I don't have any trouble with it rubbing off, and I used Super Sheen on top. I haven't had any call for silver, but I bet it would work the same. (And by craft acrylic, I mean like Plaid Paint, not the good stuff from the fine art department.)

    mmmm... looking at a bit of a time crunch here; nearest place I know of to get the real stuff might be Dick Blick in Boston, and that's a journey. I think I'll go with Liquid Leaf till I get to buy some real leaf and experiment. Thanks!
