Old 335-H3 restoration. Feed dog and plate problem
shoepatcher replied to Flaminio's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
The new throat a plate does not look like a 335 that I have seen. I assume the new throat plate and fed dog is a generic? I would try College Sewing web site and see what those parts on there look like. Your new parts will not work. glenn -
Where to buy this L Shaped Table Top?
shoepatcher replied to Kryptonite's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Might try Miami Sewing. They are in Florida. glenn -
And it is missing all the knife trimming mechanisms! I have a a 111W117. The 111w116 is the same machine but does not have the automatic tension adjustment. This machine is base on the 111W153 with the hook on the left side of the needle. great machine. Mine will cut thru 10 layers of Cordura!!! Uses a 126x11 needle

Not at $1,600.00! The tariffs may have raised the price of the 206RB-5 . Not sure what they are selling for now. glenn

Pfaff 145 feed dog setting...
shoepatcher replied to Silvershadow's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
This machine does not have the letter "P" in the model subclass. That is for 4 motion drop feed . This machine does not have it. Rather. it has a skip feed meaning feed goes front to back and back to front. just so you know. This feed is used a lot on binders. glenn -
I have looked for a 29K21 for over 35 years. No luck. Would be fun to have one. I have a 29-5 head. this was a two needle shoepatcher made from 1906-1908. The head I have has been converted back to a single needle machine. I only have the literature that Singer made it. Never found any parts list or operations manual. I am getting out of working on Singer shoepatchers this fall. Going to concentrate on Adlers, Durkopps, Claes, any anything odd. How about you? Any oddballs? I have 50 shoepatchers to rebuild counting the 13 Singers I have. glenn
-
Yes we need to see the front of the machine to determine its model and subclass. glenn

Jimi, I have binders for shoepatchers by Adler but not the setup Singer used on the 29. I wish I had those parts. Did you know Singer made a few long stitch versions? The 29K10, 11 and 16 I believe. Also had a high lift version like Adler. It was the 29K21. I will get you pics of the binder feet I have. send me your email. glenn

Just wanted to know if anyone has ever come across an operations manual for a Singer UFA. I have searched for over 35 years for one or a copy of one. I have a parts list but not an operations manual. i have a hell of a collections for Singer shoe patcher manuals as well as Adler, Claes, Durkopp, Bradbury. thanks glenn
-
I would say yes. Looks like a Singer 45K. Needle system 214 or #328. glenn

You have a 69-72. that machine is a walking foot machine but without 4 motion drop feed, rather skip feed. That means feed dog moves backwards, forwards but does not drop down. Used for binding machines. The E42 are the feet that was on the machine originally. This machine uses the same feet as a 67, 167, 267, 68, 168. 268, 269, 169. Generic feet are made and fairly cheap. Still a good machine. glenn

Main difference between 372 and 373 is the hole in the feed dog and throat plate. 373 will use heavier thread. Just enlarge the needle holes in these two items. I think the biggest thread it can use is #92 nylon. It has been a while since i had and worked on one. great machine. I seem to recall having trouble with running #138 in the needle thread. Still use #92 in bobbin. glenn

Needle hole looks big for weight of thread you are using. glenn
