  1. I must have forgotten to turn on notifications. $800 obo
  2. Local pickup only north of Jacksonville FL NP-4 style (Chinese clone) leather bell skiving machine. Bottom feed only. Servo motor. Used less than an hour for testing and setup. Includes owners manual and all accessories. Best for chrome tan, oil tan, and lighter veg tan.
  3. Yes- the strap Holders on the side are held on with upholstery tracks, and the ones in the bottom have hammer-in bag feet. He's thinking about casters - they'll be screwed in at the corners if he does them.
  4. Here it is - got it done in time for my son to use it at his gaming convention. I also made a dice tray with his clan logo that snaps to the straps. He was happy so I'm happy. I also have one commission and two other people who saw it at the show and want one. Win!
  5. Pm sent -I'll take them @jtweatherford
  6. @Littlef I like the way you did that. Totally stealing it. @Northmount thanks for the link.
  7. My son has a wooden box that he has to carry occasionally and he asked me to make him leather handles for it. The thing is heavy and large - it's made of 3/4 inch birch plywood on 5 sides with a 1/4 inch panel that slides in grooves for a closure. Its dimensions are: 17.5" wide by 16" tall. It's 12" deep but the straps won't go over that dimension. Unfortunately, my son and the box are 7 hours away, so I can't prototype and test. I'm not confident a single strap handle fastened to the top would hold. So I took a page from some tote and duffel bags I've done and other stuff I've seen, and made wraparound straps. The straps are 10oz W&C bridle. My question is how to attach the straps to the box? Glue them to the wood all the way around (up to the D-rings?) Upholstery tacks?Just at the bottom (won't the leather stretch?) Just at the top? (Would the top tack support the strain?) All the way around? (Same problem.) Fasten each strap to itself at the top, and run the handles between them? I'm open to suggestions. Horrible mockup with leather bins below.
  8. I'm not the original poster, but the Patch Lady at my local dealer gets $5 per patch, or 5 for $20, plus the cost of the patch. She doesn't do patches on the front of most vests, because she won't take a liner out to avoid pockets and such. And there is almost a line and/or a stack of vests when she's there on weekends
  9. Adding to the chorus. I'm not 100% certain it's a scam but I'm 99% of the way there. Some differences: An account with several posts and an account almost a year old messages me through here. They said another user - one with a 13 year old account and several sold items-has what I'm looking for. They have me what they said was that long established user's email address. Emailed them off the platform, they sent several photos and a reverse search of the images they sent came up empty. I requested and received a photo with my name and that day's date in the picture, along with the machine they aid they were selling. Everything was going well I thought till they went silent after I sent half the cost via Zelle. Maybe I'll get a new photo of the skiver packed up and a tracking number, but it's been 4 days with no response. @Northmount if you can't get details from my message history, I can direct message you with details. @Wizcrafts no idea why I tagged northmount instead of you.
  10. Looking for a skiver machine. Will pick up locally, or road trip for the right machine/price.
  11. @AlZilla you'll need to tag NStarleather to get his attention. I can tell you I've bought doom him a couple of times and it's been very positive every time. I think he'll tell you he's referring to square feet.
  12. @$$hobbyI'll take it. I'll hit you up via private message too. James
  13. Not the same at all. You can resell the physical dvd (and get the intellectual property on it) but you can't copy the content (like to another DVD) or upload it legally.
  14. Why don't these ever show up in Florida? Or even Georgia?
  15. Looking for my next investment in my leather shop. Not in a hurry, and looking to save money where I can. I'm willing to come get it from just north of Jacksonville Fl.
  16. I already have a 26. I want that np10 but it's not quite in my budget.
  17. @ShellCordovanFan there's a cobra np10 in the sewing machine sexton that's not quite as good a deal but it's in Florida. Hit up @loganreal
  18. It's a screaming deal, and you're only 5 hours away. I'm 40 minutes north of Jacksonville, by Fernandina Beach. I've been wanting one of these skivers, but it's just not in the budget for now. Good luck with the sale. James
  19. @loganreal where in Florida? I'm in northeast corner but would consider traveling
  20. @bruce johnson Contact Bruce Johnson Leather Tools - he knows more about vintage tools than anyone I've ever met. I'm not 100% certain I tagged the right person here, but you can google for his website.
  21. @nstarleather if you still have this I'm interested in 1 each of the black with blush, cognac, and burgundy. Pm sent.
  22. I'm no expert, but... The motor, and it's controller, are absolutely not stock to that head. If you like the head, buy a servo and speed reducer and put it to work. It's not going to change the head's value.
