  1. Thanks. I just got the machine. Stitched both belts in less than 15 minutes. Hand saver for sure
  2. Made me a keyfob clicker die and a corner rounding punch. Die is made from a reclaimed saddlers die. corner punch made from O-1 toolsteel, hardened and tempered Both work great. I love saving a buck.
  3. A couple of new belts off the bench this morning at Diamond K leather.
  4. where is your preferred place to put your makers mark on belts? Inside, outside on the tip end, outside on buckle end or where?
  5. I’m a grown man and can take criticism with no problem. I wasn’t looking for anyone’s approval or an attaboy. I certainly didn’t want to start cutting on a 200.00 set of presser feet either. I did reach out to the seller and couldn’t get much help there. I could care less if anyone thinks I “bubba’d” it up. I did what I thought was the best overall and least time consuming way to fix it for my usage. IMHO. I’m new to sewing machines and still in the learning stage and don’t mind asking for and taking advice from those more knowledgeable than I.
  6. I like making stuff like this and saving money. Good job!
  7. I don’t see anything “bubba” about it. I’ve owned my own welding and machine shop for 40 years until my cancer forced me to retire last year. Where I’m from, we figure out a way to make stuff work. (Lots of farm equipment and industrial repairs) And I do drive a truck, not much use for cars. That’s for city folks. And the presser feet were a 1/4” longer than my standard feet on this machine. I didn’t want to have to adjust the presser bar every time I changed the feet. Would be a PITA.
  8. Belt is 9-10 oz. veg tan folios are 4-5 oz. veg tan with pigskin lining.
  9. Three new folios and a belt off the bench tonight.
  10. I would use felt like on a pool table
  11. I bought a Ferdco 2000 cylinder arm machine and wanted a narrow right, center, and left presser foot set. Orderded them from one of our LW advertisers, got them in and the L& R feet were a 1/4” to long. Dont know if they were the wrong ones or what, but couldn’t adjust the pressure to keep from marking the leather. So being the redneck engineer, welder, machinist that I am, i cut one into and shortened it a 1/4”, tig welded it back together so it was the same length as my double foot. Works perfect . Have to do the right one now. Moral of the story is, never under estimate a determined South Georgia redneck,,,
  12. Anyone have a pattern for a hat box? One of my Shriner brothers wants me to make him a leather fez case.
  13. I have this same machine and just ordered a servo motor for it. Hoping it will slow it down enough ..
  14. A member here named slipknot made this one for me to use in my Dremel. Works great. Made from lignum vitae. It's hard as woodpecker lips.
  15. It's not actually rust ,but plastic plugs in the holes and it does have an oil pump but no pan. Does the spam can work pretty good?
  16. I got it in a deal with a functional and running Singer 241-12. After I looked at it closer, I think the New Home is worth fixing. The only parts missing are the bobbin carrier and bobbins that I can see. Finding these might be the problem. Any idea what it's a clone of.Wiz?
  17. I didn't know where else to put it. Just looks like a decent machine.
