  1. can you use the van as storage for your supplies? i'm sure it's drier. it's tough when life does this to you. i myself am going through numerous hell's and doesn't seem to be a good ending coming. i can honestly say i know the frustration you feel. i have learned not to say " what else can happen" or "can't get any worse" you have to try to find any positives in your life and really try to concentrate on them. remember as well...you do have a support system here. can you put up flyers, looking for a place to live, list any abilities you have, maybe someone is willing to trade a place to stay for services you can provide...ok you fun minded people, mind out of the gutter the health issues are certainly fueled by depression, lack of sleep and nutrition. try to tackle one problem at a time rather than a whole. start with the smallest problem, easier to achive small victories at first, then you will see yourself starting to make progress and that will fuel your desire to continue fighting. sorry, starting to sound like a doris day thing here. just try to take control of what you can and appreciate the smallest of good things in your life, such as being able to get into the bathroom i'm not gonna say keep your chin up, or hang in there, it doesn't help. what does help is understanding that there are real people out there who are going through a lot worse than you and i. i would send you good luck if i had any but i am apparently in the negative on that myself. so i will just wish for things to get better for you soon.
  2. unfortunatly i know those fun little words all too well also! nothing more frustrating than being that close to the end, then crash!! heartbreaking. it probably won't help you at the moment of disappointment but, i figure that this is how many so neat tricks of the trade are born. maybe if you step away from it for awhile, the creative juices you have will start flowing. i've seen your work, you are an incredible artist! i'm sure something will come to you. the best part is, now you have nothing to lose with whatever you try out on it. if you had a picture of it up, someone may be able to start you on your way to a creative new style or technique. best of luck!
  3. thanks guys, i will give it a shot.
  4. hello, i was asked to stitch a hole that was in this seat, i handstitched as best as i could. the material was still glued to the foam so i was limited with access. i added some seam binding. unfortunatly, it can be seen due to the damaged leather when it ripped. any suggestions on how to "pretty it up" (hide) ? any help would be appreciated. also, this is the first seat i've ever dealt with, suggestions on what i should charge the customer? thanks for taking the time to have a look.
  5. that's a lot of leather!! lots of luck to you, keeping fingers toes and eyes crossed for you
  6. thank you for the comments! i picked up 2 chairs for playing around with, so i don't have a full set. but i am thinking that i may do an asian dragon on the other. they will just be for display in my store. i learned a few things on the way and need to change things a bit.
  7. when i tried to upload my 1mb picture, i could not get it to upload at all. resized the original to 568kb and was successful but is still a very large picture, so 300kb may be optimal. p.s. thanks to admin that tried to help me last night !
  8. this is a totally recovered kitchen chair i just finished. the largest project of mine so far.
  9. i tried to upload the picture again today with nu luck still. i'll try later today with a different computer, if that doesnt work then i will give up

  14. he picked out the design..found on internet... no lining..he wanted it plain, my first hand stitch job ever! i don't even know if it's an actual stitch, but it worked. and it is laced at the back..he wanted it to match her lacing on her pants. no pics of the lacing because the batteries were dying.
  15. thank you everyone for all the tips and help! my hubby doesn't want the foam inside...he says he doesnt really need it because his beer doesnt really get a chance to get warm he wants just a holder for it instead with it not going all the way around...so i will try my hand at lacing the side and bottom. thank you all again so much
  16. does anyone know what would be the best way to make a beer cozy? hubby's bday is coming and i thought i would attempt to try it. i would need to know all the details..best leather weight...size..what would you use for the liner...and sewing, lacing or glue. i am running out of time otherwise i would just give it a shot in the dark. any help would be greatly appreciated...thank you
  17. thanks for the helpful info! i love this place awesome looking flowers by the way! are they sewn or glued?
  18. key fobs or wristbands are usually a good place to start... find a design..or if you are one of the lucky ones, draw up a design. would need to know what tools you do have to be able to help you in more detail. don't worry, the swelling from the bite of the leather bug does go away, but the addiction stays
  19. i was so excited, i got a new stamp! i thought i would make up a quick wristband to sell boy was i wrong. it took me all day! the dying was painstaking. i think instead of $12.95, this one is going for $24.95
  20. these are the first 4 of the series i will be doing, need more practice with the swivel knife though...hard to do some of the more shapley parts.
  21. what is the best product to use for a finish or sealing acrylic paint? and is there a difference between acrylic paint you buy for leather and acrylic paint you buy from an art store, such as folkart acrylic paint? thanks for any help!
  22. thank you for the responses! unfortunatly with our cheap one...no manual came with it...just a piece of paper that had pretty pictures of the parts..they were labelled at least. we did take it apart and the pin was not moving back into place when the trigger was released. i guess thats what i get for being impatiently excited about trying something new! when we ordered the air brushes..we ordered a cheap one and the more expensive one...to practice with cheapy first..but as i said earlier, back ordered on the good one...still waiting for it...been over a month and a half now one more little note...i also learned..just because you dont see the spray..doesn't mean it isn't there... i will be sneezing blue until the good one gets here...aah..aah aahblue!
  23. hello, just trying out air brushing, what is the psi for applying the dyes? i just have an el cheapo right now...of course the better quality one was back ordered i tried the el cheapo and it was spraying out before the trigger was pulled....very messy..was not expecting that...just as well i did do some reading...otherwise i would be an oversized smurfette right now. any help would be greatly appreciated, as well as any other tips. thanks in advance folks.
