  1. No, I don't know where that came from.. My brother made the pen and it was in the box, he asked me to make a leather pen holder. I have a video up on youtube where I made the pen case and at the end of it you can see some more of his pens. you needn't rush off to you tube now!!! I only started leather working this year...
  2. I have a question for you... I have a conversation going on on another forum about stitching. The white stitches on your strap appear to have a small space between them, when I stitch my leather I don't get that ( mine seem to overlap each other (saddle stitch) how do you get that look you have? I really like it.
  3. I haven't sold any leather goods to anyone yet (I have given away lots...) and my wife has lately said the same to me. My answer was " I didn't think you would want anything I made" anyway we'll see... I think thats a fantastic looking bag! very neat and nice stitching. Is that your own pattern or did you buy it?
  4. Wow! Well said. I don't have any interest in making gun holsters but its great to hear an expierenced leather worker talk... Ive been in my trade for 40 years and all of the above makes sense to my business as would any sales business. Its a credit to you for taking the time to explain it all here. Thanks.
  5. I just googled Niwa Leather now... impressive work and did you see his workshop? Wow! If you look in the background you can see the machines he uses... Here is some of the things I am trying at the moment, but I have to get the stitching better. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/p1vx3sqpi99k11g/AACPEZegHX_PitjY9bLeXvlOa
  6. I have the exact problem and for the last 2 nights I've been trying different threads and stitching holes and can not get the stitches to have that small gap between them. Making bigger holes didn't work and also pulling the thread tighter didn't work either. Maybe it's the type of leather? Your stitching looks good though.
  7. I have figured how to do it your way 480volt, but it seems a little strange that I'd have to do it this way? shouldnt the tool fit the rivets that its sold for? I will call Le Provo on Monday. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same problem? Thanks guys.
  8. Hi all, I bought some copper rivets from Le Prevo England . Size 8 and 10 with a setting tool for both sizes. When I'm setting the rivet, the tool won't close the post and washer the whole way? The gap is 8mm. Ive checked Both tools and they're drilled 13mm deep and the rivets are 21mm each. Has anyone else had this problem?
  9. Can we see some more of your buckles?
  10. It does push the leather out. Even if it was never used for clicking leather again... it would make a great paper weight! Lol.
  11. Very difficult to get pricing... I've looked around on his instagram and all I can get is $30 for two toot stitching chisel and $130 for 10 teeth. But he makes some beautiful tools.
  12. That's a great idea! I've been wondering about threads sizes too. any chance you could take the same picture with a ruler beside the leather so as I have a guide of how many stitches per inch? Thanks, Ger.
  13. I just made this last week. the table is from Ikea.
  14. I don't know anything about carving... but i think that looks really good. I can see everything is a mirror image so before you start carving in to leather, you might make the bottom center leaf a little bigger. keep up the great work!
  15. That's a lovely set of tools. When peening with a ball peening hammer, do you not distort the washer also?
  16. I've look at all his work and this is the first time I've found exactly the type of work I aspire to... So like you I may get practicing my hammer skills.
  17. Just saw that video, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Now that's what I am talking about!!! i think that looks great. how do you get that finish ?
  19. I look forward to seening your photos. is it ever a case that the peened side of the river would be the showcase?
  20. Oops, spell checker didn't work well here. "Peening copper rivets"
  21. Hi, ive been looking at a lot of video's for copper rivets... I can't find any that shows a really good finished penned side of the rivet. anyone want to post a picture of a set copper rivets that you're proud of and how you achieved that finish?
