  3. I have one of the "pro" models. Never have been able to get the brass anvil right. It doesn't cut a nice clean hole. I grab a drive punch most of the time.

  12. Thanks for the input. I have never used metal eyelets before, always figured that leather to leather was a better choice. I do use a thicker leather for the cord to slide thru. I just want to produce a product that will last!
  13. I agree, they need to be charged with attempted murder!
  14. I have been making old style sporrans for just over a year now. They have a drawstring to close the bag. The last five or six months I have started using 4 braid bolo cord for the drawstrings. I have always felt that leather against leather would cause less wear on either the hole or the draw cord. What is your opinion. Will leather on leather wear more? Or, will the braided cord wear less with a metal eyelet?
  15. I need some where to get 2.5" nickel plated centerbar belt buckles. Ohio Bag carries a Sam Brown in nickel that is 2.25", but it is a little narrow. Zack White carries them in brass but not nickel. Help!
  16. I worked for Louisiana State University Ag Dept for 30 years. Took care of 400 head of F1 cattle. Retired moved to North Carolina and went to work part time for an exotic game ranch driving draft horses. I have been tooling leather since the mid 1970's. I made fillagree belts for cowboys to support my rodeo addiction. I have evolved a bit since then!
  17. to this forum also Scottishshoemaker. I'm glad you made the journey. There are lots of folks here that will jump in and help! Like I said before, just read and pound some leather. When you have questions post here, someone will know the answer or tell you where to find it!
