  1. Usually pottery/ceramics arent glazed on the bottoms, and I have never seen them mold, if it is a mold, it would be on the outside and might stain the non glazed area, but once it is washed, or even dipped in bleach the mold would be dead..... more than likely it drew in somthing else... maybe sat on wet news paper and the ink from the papers... dip the bottom in bleach and rinse it off... you will be fine.
  2. I will see if I can find my pickture of my Rune name. This is what I would like made so i can stamp it into everything I make. Ok, this is my Rune name. I tooled it out on a scrap piece a few months ago, and glued it to my work station... I would like a tool that has my Rune name on it, How much for it with shipping to 37415 USA?
  3. Very impressed..... Where are you located? If I sent you a pic of a symbol, you would be able to make it in a 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch?
  4. Well gee... Thanks Freak... Now I gotta decide which one to use.... LOL, Thanks alot... number three and six look like weiners... so i will have to toss a coin to see which one I will use.... Might use one wing for one side and the other wing for the other side... Thank you
  5. Good enough to make you think the finished carving is a picture of Norma Jean..... She is damn good! I sent he a note telling her I liked her stuff and she wrote back telling me thanks... I think she is probably a real down to earth type who is very talented....
  6. Sorry I wasnt more specific about the angel wings I am looking for. Here is a pic of one that I have, but there is no detail to it, and I am not of a creative mind to make it look good, what I made with it looks liek crap cause I dont know how to make it look good so something like this with detail would be awesome. Thanks, Mike As you can see... it isnt very good... I am not artistic in taking something and making it my own... I can coy comething fairly well... but thats about the limit of my creative abilities...

  12. Can Latigo be tooled and carved? If not, What is used to WATERPROOF vegtan after it is tooled and dyed? I am thinking most about a motorcycle bag that I make that is black (either dyed veg tanned or black latigo) being out in the weather for even a short amount of time.

Below this window you have what is in the second pic, the CHOOSE pic and the ATTACH pic buttons, You use the choose pic to choose the pic, then once you select the pic, hit the ATTACH pic button and let it attach the pic, It will refresh the page and look like the third pic I am attaching.... Let us know if this helps and you get it done, or you still have issues with it. Mike

  18. I hadnt thought about a monument company... there are several around here too... Not sure if they do the work themselves or if they piece it out, but it is worth a shot to stop by and check with them.... Thanks for the idea!
  19. I have the 1 1/2 inch thick by 12 inch square slab that I got from Tandy, but it seems small for some of the larger carving pieces I want to do. So I found a 2 foot by 3 foot slab out in my back yard that had been there for who knows how long, I bought the house 4 years ago and it was out there when we bought the house. I grabbed it up and got to looking at it, I scrubbed it clean with dish detergent and water and got all the dirt off it, but it is pitted and I fear it will harm the cased leather if I try to tool on this the way it is. What I am wondering is if there is some type of poly cote I can put on it that will smooth it out and allow me to tool on it without fear of it harming the cased leather. If not some type of poly something else I can cote the slab with to seal it and make it usable for tooling... Anything you folks can come up with is much appreciated! Thanks Mike
  20. I have a project I have been putting off since last year to make 4 motorcycle vests with a memorial carving on the back of them. I bit off more than I can chew and have no clue what I am doing when it comes to making garments. I bought the pattern pack at Tandy, and the largest is too small even for me and the vests are for four people who are larger than I am... I have no idea how to enlarge the pattern for thier sizes, and it has to be modified for the back piece. From front to back, the vest will have two pockets on the front, laced up the sides with 13 lace holes, a special sunglass holder on the chest above the heart, and the back piece (made from 4-5 oz veg tan) and the rest of the vest made from 2-3 oz chrome tanned black leather. The instide would be lined with yellow nylon and one would have an inside pocket.... I would actually like to have an inside pocket on all of them but only one is required.... I have everything purchased for this project, but like I said before, i have no clue how to put it all together to make a nice looking vest. I actually made a vest from the pattern with fabric, so I know the largest pattern is going to be way too small for the people I need the vests for. If anyone out there can help me, yell at me... PLEASE... this project needs to be done very soon... Thanks Mike Attached is a pic of the back piece. Its cut on the corners because I did it only as a practice piece to see how it would look. The ones that will be made for the vest will be square.
  21. google image search....
  22. There ya go... I think it is 36 inch long and as wide as you need.... I needed to get a print out of a carving pattern I am (putting off) working on, and I went to Kinkos and they printed out several sizes for me... if they have to resize it they will charge you to do so.... But all in all it doesnt cost much to have them printed out... think it was like $15 for 10 printouts all different sixes so i could get the right size...
  23. I have not ran into one that overlaps, but I dont like to cut up my patterns... especially if they represent different sizes... so i use the graphite paper (transfer paper) (what used to be carbon paper but I dont think they make carbon papter any longer) put it in between thickish poster board, and the pattern, and tract the pattern... it goes through the transfer paper and then I cut out the new pattern from the poster board. I mark everything and store it in either a folder or large envelope when i am done.
  24. The manual that was sent to me with the sewing machine is for a MORSE 200. If the mores is a clone I am not sure, but I am guessing the it is and the Standard is also a clone of the Singer.... and all the guy could get his hands on was a manual for the Morse, instead of the Standard or the Singer. This is "Copyright 1956 Morse Sewing Machine & Supply Corp."
  25. In all honesty, I have no clue.... I bought mine on ebay and the hand crank came with it, and it fits the machine perfectly. If it is available for other machines I could not say....
