  1. I am not a moderator, but if I were, I would slap both your hands.... NO PISSING CONTESTS on the board.... the two of you being staff on the board should know better I will put a stop to this with the following FACTS: I do not have 30+ years in the computer industry, but I do however have a few years of installation experiance in both CATV/Satellite and networking (computer networks, POS, VOIP.... etc...) and I have used methods in both instances... I am not going to get into specifics... you are both correct in that what you stated is how you would do it if it were you, both will work in most situations, and both will not work in some situations... all depends on the situation. The situation stated above I personally would go either way, and I do not see a problem with either other than personal preferance and what I am willing to spend on installation costs and we arent going to get into that aspect of it... Now kiss and make up. Miike
  2. Johanna Only peace in the Middle East? Geesh....
  3. get some neetsfoot, and take a scrap piece, cut in two, lightly oil one piece with neetsfoot (oil again if needed but dont over oil it because the spirit oil dye will not soak into the leather well) then dye it, and just dye the other piece, and then compaire the two... let me know what results you get.... I have been trying the neetsfoot on different projects, and I like the results myself, but have not come across anything like what you are describing. Mike
  4. Speaking as a lover of wolves..... damn... not just damn, but hot damn... With that out of the way... Johanna... why dont you see about getting a few hacks for this board that you like so much that cant even pop up an explanation to a fellow traveler that he/she is doing something other than what is allowed... and not give pop ups that I am doing allowed things, but too often.... (that search thing I told you about....) I know this isnt VBull.... but I know there are alot of hacks out there that will allow you more control over certain features and what not...
  5. What are you talking about? I am always in there..... might not be sitting in front of the computer, but I am always logged in to the chat...
  6. These two stories makes you think... We have a sort or family here on this board and on others out there too... and to see that family togetherness stretch all the way to a supplier... two suppliers at that.... really gives a cinical old bastard like me hope that maybe there might be a few more businesses out there that opperate with heart.... not just for the dollar.
  7. So what you are telling us is that Clay is a nit picker? LOL Good eye Clay...
  8. Glad to hear you are doing better.... And yes, this is very rare for a business to take it to the next level and be personalble. Very cool.
  9. according to the person i emailed with, OTB is supposed to be changing thier policy about charging $10 for the catalog, and changing the site so you can order without having to pay for it....

  11. I would say for you to pick a flat rate to give her per week..... say $10 or whatever... (great thing about having kids... it isnt called child labor when they are yours... LOL) then figure out how many inches or total collars she does do and divide the amount by that, and tell her that she will get like $1 per collar if she does 10 a week... or whatever you set it for her to get per week...
  12. after you hit the find button, you then have to hit the attach button to the right of the find (choose) button and wait for it to upload.... has to be jpg, gif, if it is not an approved file type the board just resets with your post waiting to be posted, but does not tell you that it cannot upload that type of file.
  13. When I ordered my catalog from Ohio travel bag, I emailed them asking them to send it to me, they told me to go to the area on thier site to order it so i emailed them back telling them that I was not going to pay $10 for a catalog that I may or may not use to order parts from. Them sending me a free catalog is a cost of doing business, and they will recomp the cost of the catalog and shipping fees for it from my first purchase. They wrote back askign me about my company, I explained that I mostly make bags for motorcycles, and I need cheaper hardware than my local Tandy sells for, and I gave them an example of the bag clasp I am most interested in that tandy sells for $6+ and they wrote me back that that clasp is thier item number xxx and is $1.20 each... I am required to spend $30 per order. I will copy and paste the email if needed... they quoted me a minimum of $30 per order, so you should NOT need to spend a minimum of $75. Let me know how it goes.... I received my catalog within 5 business days after I started emailing them about it too....
  14. Very... um... cool...? Well, this sux... Nope... this sux.... lets see if I can upload it to either photobucket or my site....

You know, I have a fabrication shop close by, and I stopped in and talked to a guy about making some for me... he took measurments, and my number but hasnt called me back, I stopped by a week later to check on progress and he told me he had been sick, and just getting back to work, so i told him it was cool, and I would stop by in a week... Today (monday) is a week, and I intend on stopping by to see him and see if he has them ready for me... not sure what avenue I will have available to me if he isnt able to make them or just deciudes he doesnt want to make them for me.
