  1. Why not post the price here on the board? Can you ship me a vegtan "crust" side at 20 square foot, 8-9oz, for less than $175.00 US dollars? I doubt very seriously you can, with it being in usable shape once it gets here. The figure of $175 is looking at Live Oak brand at $8.00 per foot with taxes on it.... You ship to me I would have to pay international shipping for an oversized shipment, then import duties to get it allowed into the country then delivered to me. I am guessing that one side would run me close to $400.00 US dollars. When I need a side, I go to the local warehouse and buy what I need while it is on sale and usually pay less than $4.00 per foot. Post your prices and let us see if it would be viable or not.
  2. Yeah, there is noting worse than having 15 yards of lace flying around while trying to lace it through a hole and it gets knotted up... not to mention it is much easier to keep it from twisting when you work with 1 yard (arms held out to your side, lace from left to right, cut it) instead of more....Also, somethign I have noticed when working with longer pieces is that not only will it stretch, but it get chaffed and will break and doens have an overall good look.... at the beginning of the splice it looks nice and new, then in the middle of the run towards the end of the splice it looks worn, then you splice in a new piece.... get the picture? Welcome to the board also!
  3. Welcome home and greetings.... Now with that said.... when I saw that HILOBOY posted I was like "Huh.... BJ Penn is here and he is into Leather?" LOL
  4. You got that crap right....
  5. Regis, you are a nut...... Washroad.... my computer set up and all is out here int he garage.... I cant smoke in the house, so I put it out here and smoke while I surf.... LOL, No AC out here and it stays 99-105 out here all day long... I leave the garage door up and have a box fan pointer on me while I sit out here.... I keep a digital temp gage right here to let me know just how hot it it too.... LOL... SE Tennessee is very humid, thought I dont know the index... probably 60% or so....
  6. Yeah, A side is what.... 20 foot square.... 11,000 feet equals to about 550 sides.... That is alot of sides.... I dont even think the Tandy warehouse here has that many sides at one time..... Is there any way to get samples of your leather....? So we can get a taste and smell of it? There are alot of leathers out there that are tanned with methods that make it smell fowl and nasty.... How much a foot when placing an order like that, 11000 square foot, and what method would the shipping be? Looking like shipped by boat, loaded onto a freight truck and delivered to my house and off loaded with a fork truck.... That is going to be very expensive. What kind of numbers are we talking here?
  7. Nice. Describe the coloring and how you applied it please
  8. In the matting outside of the carving.... what did you use the highlight the deeper points to looks dark/blackish, with the higher parts looking brown? and how did you apply it?
  9. Welcome home Very nice belts Love the Snakes... and the wall hanging inspires me to make one of my family crest.... Funny you should mention Testers.... I recently did a forearm piece and before I remembered to do the Celtic knotting in red dye, I dyed the whole thing black.... oops... so, looking around, my eyes caught my model craft work area and my paints.... I have a semi large selection of both Acrylic and Enamel Testers paints, and went over to get a red..... I figured that since the Cova is Acrylic the Testers Acrylic would work fine.... I didnt hesitate... Grabbed it up, and applied it to the carving, then grabbed the White Cove and did the other part I wanted in white and it all turned out very well... Used Super Sheen over it and was very happy with the final product.... http://www.testors.com/catalog_browse.asp?ictNbr=4

  18. I have been using it, and I use it when it needs to be bonded better then contact cement.... is a bit thicker than Elmers white school glue, so i use a brush to apply it, I use pressure to hold the two pieces together and give it 20-30 minutes minimum to cure.... I like to give it over night, but after 20 munites I am able to go back working with it without it coming apart.... what seeps out the sides I roll off with my thumb, and go back to work on it.... I love it.... on anything you are bonding flesh side to flesh side where the flesh side is smooth.... you need to rough it up... especially with latigo..... Hope this helps
