  1. Mother’s Day is around the corner so I challenge all of you leather workers to make a rose for your Mom. Or who you call Mom, if you do not have a Mom then make a rose for a special person in your life No rules, make it anyway that you want, It does not have to be a traditional rose it is what ever your interpretation of a rose is This is for fun, I gave you an idea, run with it and post your results here lets see some beautiful art work!!!!!!!!!

Back on track in all honesty, I have only used a weight to hold my pattern a few times I hold it down with my hand or hand and arm i have used regular cheapest you can buy masking tape, I do this for 2 reasons it works and it keeps my leather from stretching out and being “off” makes it easier to see a line to cut . I do not work on the finished side, I mark and cut on the back side

  4. In the message box, at the bottom is a button for smiley faces when ever I try and use one of the emojis I get a red line that says value added is not allowed or something to that effect why are there smiley faces if they are not allowed? My mind is boggled

  6. Buy a roll of 1.5” wide cheap masking tape Apply tape to the backside of your leather it will stop the dreaded stretch Lol. Never mind this thread is 3 years old

  8. I am going to give up a little secret if you want to use lead and you are going to buy it find a plumbing supply store near you. Not a hardware store diddy bop into the store and ask for lead wool, now you can shape it any way you wish without using heat if they do not have in-stock tell them to order it from the warehouse

    I use the plastic ones for now tandy and the stecksstore have them for around $2.20
  10. Find some old car speakers and salvage the magnet, I use vinyl as my pattern material and magnets. Works great or buy a jar of BBs pour into a sock then cover with leather

  13. In my opinion, it seems to be worth the $7.50. I spent to have it arrive at my door
  14. The mysterious goo came in the mail today I tested it on my arm, Nice , smooth then grabbed a veg tan knife sheath, rubbed some goo on half of it then buffed it did the same with some chrome tan
  15. The holster is 12” long x 6 1/2” wide measured top to tip of the triangle and 6 1/2” at the top I cut the triangle, used the top part of a 45 long colt pattern and sewed that to the triangle
  16. Pictured us a Scholenger 45 Sa with an 8” barrel yes it is for a big guy, all my stuff is made for big guys (I’m a big guy) and straps have to be cut down for them wee fellers

  18. Weight instead of a fastener add the Pennie’s and the flap won’t flop or flip open

  21. I call it, negativity reminds me of a photo negative black resolene use cotton strip, apply with cotton almost dry, apply in a circular motion lol wax on, wax off Later, gotta finish this

  23. Working on a shoulder holster cross draw holster for a long colt 45, this is intended to hang low. Muzzle just above belt height canted on about a 45degree with the grip being center of the body below the sternum
  24. Choosing the correct tool for the right spot is my struggle with carving. I am trying to learn on my own and my teacher is an idiot This is an embarrassment
