  1. HI, I have been busy working. not a lot of time to be on a forum. Here is a range bag I made..The elk hide to the veg tan end panels did not turn out the way I wanted. inexperience on a sewing machine other than that I think it is OK for my first go at this kind of project 24'' x 12'' x 12'' it is lined inside with veg tan, the outside gussets are the anchor points for the inside pockets
  2. 2 pcs 8 oz veg tan sandwiched between 2 pce 3 oz elk hide and a wet form veg tan piece with elk hide lining double stitched
  3. With some fantastic help and pattern from Dwight. I made the holster. I made the belt and cartridge holder with out a pattern. I am going to add a layer of 2oz suede on the inside of the belt. and I need 3 rivets to finish Belt is 2 layers 8oz veg tan, holster is 2 layers 8 oz veg tan cartridge holder is 2'' wide 8oz with a 1'' strap.
  4. I used 2 dyes. antique mahogany and black [mahogany is cut by 50% rubbing alcohol] dyed the whole thing mahogany, did not touch up uneven dye areas dipped a sponge in black dye, then rubbed off half the dye, I died the edges black and the top edge black by holding the sponge on an angle so that i died the top and edge at the same time, randomly then just rubbed the body of the leather here and there.. then sealed it all with goof proof water based finish
  5. Really? Damn i was afraid of that, thats what I get for trying to do something different thanks for letting me know that.

  11. he guy stuffed the gun down his pants. no holster idiots are idiots and you cant fix stupid I agree that Glocks are junk, I 'm a 1911 man
  12. Glock will not fire unless the trigger is pulled holster has a trigger guard cover, so it is impossible for the glock to fire putting the gun in or removing from a holster
  13. I was searching for union lockstitch but fell down a rabbit hole
  14. I like what you did. I have been looking around and talking to a couple of cop buddies And was told to look up a jackass shoulder holster ..double mag pouch on one side with your holster on the other. The GOOD thing about this rig, is your holster off your belt can also be on the shoulder just by adjusting the straps..chicago screws
  15. I found a nice looking old Junker-Rue But what model is it? it is advertised as a industrial
  16. So it sounds like the barracuda is not my machine. If I go second hand. with a $600.00 budget. what brand name am i looking for that is a narrow slotted jump foot machine? holsters, belts knife sheathes are the goal, My patcher is tearing up veg tan. it is great for other stuff
  17. Will the Reliable Barracuda sew holsters? 1/4'' leather? 0r 3 1/8'' pieces totaling 3/8'' ?
  18. I likely thumbs up !!!!
  19. I have an idea . if you were to use just 1 strip of leather. fastened to your pants the route of the strip would be from [left side] holster up, then around the neck, down the right back side to a belt attachment in the front the other end of the strip would be from holster down to belt at midway between front back see 4th grade drawing
  20. Chuck, https://www.strapworks.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MSC&msclkid=9f2599a2e8e413e01f43c789f60203a1&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=ECI - Google Shopping - All Products (existing) [Priority%3A Low]&utm_term=4582764467485901&utm_content=All Products (existing) instead of a belt loop, why not use a suspender clip. if you use a loop, then it is the hassle of threading the belt, if you use the fastner on the loop like you have. it may or may not break the loop these clips will attach anywhere.i am thinking of making a shoulder rig using webbing that stretches for a tighter fit
  21. I am working on a method to distress leather to look old.. i think i am pretty close, so i wanted to ask the forums opinion tell you what i did. and get some fed back. first, i used a sponge sideways to [black] dye the side edge of the leather and to let a little on the top then i rubbed the dye on cardbord to dry the sponge out. then i rubbed the dryed out sponge onto the leather next i used a cloth and rubbed brown dye over the black dye then with a clean cloth rubbed finish over it does this look like an old wore out piece of leather in need of some tlc ?
  22. I also did the hammer thong a little different closed on a open hammer. opps ran out of snaps
