  1. The Al Stohlman Tandy holster book has a shoulder holster pattern with a curved strap. Not sure how to send it to you.
  2. I needed a really keen point awl for opening holes to handsew. So I took a 2 inch wood ball from some craft store, drilled a tiny hole, and pushed one of my hand stitching needles into it. Makes the hole size I need for those needles.
  3. Titebond lll was not good. Popped loose with the Ist stitches. Guess I will squirt Elmer’s in crevice after I get done.

    nice blade

Seems like I got them at Home Depot or Lowe’s but they had to hunt.

    nice blade

They are great but hard to find.
  6. We don’t even have a hardware any more. Closest is lumberyard. I’m gonna try some Titebond III. Supposed to be more waterproof than ll. I’ve got a new can of Weldwood but I need to be able to adjust position.
  7. Welcome. A couple of years back I was curious about Vegemite. Not even health food stores had it. I ordered some from Amazon. Came from England, took 2 weeks. I took it to work for my co-workers to try. They said it was the worst thing they ever tasted. I think if I had enough to eat it regularly I could like it. But I do like salt.
  8. I would prefer to use Weldwood Contact Cement but I have a project that will be hard to position correctly and I need to be able to pull it off and reposition momentarily. I am sure there are a number of craft/leather glues that would be great but in this small town we only have Walmart and lumberyards. To get something from Tandy, Weaver, etc, will take a week and double the glue cost in shipping. I may order something next supply order but really need to finish this. I have the Elmer’s wood glue. I also have heard the only difference between standard Elmer’s and the wood glue is the wood glue is waterproof. This project needs to be waterproof. Thanks in advance for the free advice.
  9. Thanks
  10. What size thread would you hand stitch the bottom in with? I have 1 mm lace and 207 polyester. Probably need something in between.
  11. My 225 Consew has 2 holes there on the back. Not sure if tapped or screw size.
  12. Is there one that fits a Consew 225?
  13. Thanks. I will give it a try.
  14. It’s a cozy for a Yeti water bottle. Friend had this made many years ago and wants another for his son. Drum is riveted and I guess I will do so as well as it will be stronger and more industrial looking. Can’t figure out how they did the bottom plug. Is it a seam to the outside for both pieces? For sure hand sewn. Better pic
  15. Thanks. I would hate to cut it off as they only made 1400 of that model. I wanted to post another picture of the dye job as leather would not take dye in spots. File limit for some reason but first picture was same size.
  16. Just no good way for a short guy to carry a 10 inch Blackhawk. Just need to get taller.
  17. I’m sorry. I got my wars crossed up. War of 1812 and Creek Indian War. I am poor at leather, a worse historian.
  18. Thanks. We have a new historical site for a muster of War of 1812/ Spanish War and friends dress up in these.
  19. Anybody got a pattern for one of these? Thanks.
  20. Is the leather pre dyed or is that just NFO to darken it?
  21. What’s the finish on the new holster Chuck?
  22. This may have been discussed but I could not locate it. I saw a video and this guy said he tinted his NFO, 4 parts per 100, with the Fiebings die. He said Feibings Pro would not mix. That would save a step if it worked. Anybody try this?
