  1. Here is a previous discussion here on this forum of the Chris Pratt crossdraw holster. Also, the old Al Stohlman book “ how to make holsters” gives details on correct cant for crossdraw.
  2. The OP did say he was looking at the older model. Yes, the new model operates from the company “cloud”. Seems like you have to pay for every design you get from the “cloud”. And pay for the design software . Maybe even reprinting your own design you have to pay. Those in large cities have adequate bandwidth to do this. I have satellite internet and can’t even read this forum when it is raining heavily. I am sure some others on this forum would rather not connect to the “cloud” every time they cut out a key ring. Just wanted the OP to realize the possible limitations of a close out model.
  3. Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone used an Ellison Die cutter for leather? These are manual cutters with letter, figure, etc dies bought separately to cut paper and card stock. Wonder how thick leather these would cut? Had one where I used to work - meant to try leather.
  4. I thought the older models only cut designs from the modules ( fonts, figures). So unless you are doing Hello Kitty holsters not sure what designs you would have access to.
  5. My wife has 3. They have memory modules you buy with fonts and designs. Newer ones download designs from internet or computer. Primarily for stick-on vinyl and iron on designs. Don’t think they will cut deep enough for leather. Another similar brand cuts cardboard 3 d puzzles. I think they are closing out the stand alone models and only supporting the online fed type. The new formats only run on the new models. Has a cardboard gummed mat that the material sticks to. Stylus and mat both move around.
  6. Thanks guys. I spent 3 NCIS reruns holstering it in and out last night and added a coat of 50-50 Mop and Glo inside and out and it seems better.
  7. Service manual for 111 http://keysew.com/Webpages/DemoImages/USNavySinger111WConsew225REPAIR.pdf Consew 225 manual (111 copy) https://s3.amazonaws.com/a.teamworksales.com/CONSEW+PDF/CONSEW+NEW/CONSEW+225+INSTRUCTION+MANUAL.pdf
  8. I am sure this has been discussed but my search did not find it. What do you do to slick the inside of a holster with a little too much retention? This one is areund 8-9 oz , unlined, wet molded, and the inside is really rough. Could one use Mink oil, wax, etc? Outside is neatsfoot only. Thanks.
  9. Thanks guys. Hags, the 44 mag design looks great as well. Have to try one or the other.
  10. Is the belt dedicated to the holster or uses the pants belt? Does he draw right handed or left? Is that a snap buckle on the strap at the top of the holster? It just looks very neat. Thanks for sharing it. Sorry for all the questions, just need to wrap my head around it. I have a 10 1/2 inch Blackhawk and I made a belt holster for it. Hangs past my knee. Too long for your type rig too I fear for me. I just need to get taller.
  11. I have made several of the Ben Thompson type for single actions but they go under the opposite armpit crossdraw. Would love to see it in action. I really like where the cartridge loops are.
  12. I made something similar to the one LePoisson made a while back. Worked OK but I did not think to grind the blade off. Cut myself a lot. His design is so much better. And I only do 3 or 4 widths.
  13. Thanks. I mostly use 8-9 oz but I have some 5-6 I could try.
  14. My wife is a librarian. I was going to make some tooled leather bookmarks for gifts ( maybe I could manage this small a leather item). She said they would be too thick and damage the books. Anybody had success with these?
  15. Consew 225 manual (clone of 111) with threading instructions. https://s3.amazonaws.com/a.teamworksales.com/CONSEW+PDF/CONSEW+NEW/CONSEW+225+INSTRUCTION+MANUAL.pdf This is manual for a very similar model. http://keysew.com/Webpages/DemoImages/USNavySinger111WConsew225REPAIR.pdf

  17. Got this as a retirement gift. Have not used it yet. Still admiring.
  18. Here is a chart comparing metric sizes to number sizes of thread from Toledo Machine https://www.tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html The 138 thread which Shoepatcher mentioned as max on this machine is 1/2 the diameter of your 0.8 mm thread. I have a 225 which I think is similar class and it won’t go bigger than 138.;

    I am no familiar with donut magnets, but would a flat round magnet with hole drilled serve the same end?
  20. Your motor plate says 2.8 amp. Might need to replace dryer circuit breaker with a 20 amp breaker.
