    New Knives

Here are my new toys. They where made by Steve Powers from CO. They are sharp right out of the box and cut saddle skirting like butter. I have one that I have use for a year and and just strop it and buffed it. Still sharp enough to cut saddle skirting easily. Just thought I would share some pictures of them with you. Thanks for looking. Mark
  3. Dixie You did a great job for your first pair. You will find new ways to lay out your fringe as you do more. It took me a few tries to get the look I liked. As for stitching its practice, practice and more practice. Mark
  4. I think this is the one you are looking for. Let me know if this is what you are looking for. Mark
  5. Ross I like the idea of short zippers. I make my chinks for myself and others that are step-ins and lace them up and make my shotguns with zippers that you step in then zip. I hate to try and reach around and get a zipper started this makes that not a problem. I hate to make them to slack for safety reasons. Thanks for the in put Ross that helps. Mark
  6. I have been asked about making a pair of shot guns at are step ins. 1st I would like to know if any one here has made any before? 2nd how would you go about making the legs so a guy can get them on and off with boots on? (If it is doable). Just looking for input on this if any one can help. Thanks Mark
  7. Looks good to me Bonnie. More fun than zippers thats for sure. Mark
  8. Pete I cut that with a swivel knife then worked with a modeling spoon, nothing fancy or special. Thanks for the kind words. Mark

  10. Here is the last ordered pair for Christmas and look I have one day to spare. It was looking to close for comfort but we made it. These are the last of three that where made for brothers . We tried to make them close to the same but a little different. On these I used the same stamps I had used on the first two pairs and I like the pattern. They were stamped with Berry King stamps and Panhandle Leather was use for the main bodies and HO for the tooled pieces. Thank all for looking and have a Merry Christmas Mark
  11. Here is another pair just off the bench. These are stamped with a stamp that I had Berry King make to look like an old McMillan stamp I have. This Stamp is my favorite stamp and Berry did a great job on this stamp. The chap leather came from Panhandle Leather and the tooling strap is HO. Thanks for looking and any advice is sure welcome. Mark
  12. Here is another pair just off the bench. They are stamped with a Berry King crazy stamp and border, and the kids initials. The chap leather came from Panhandle leather and the belt, yokes and side panels are HO. Any advice is welcome. Thanks for looking Mark
  13. Bonnie That looks good. Kinda fun to do something other than Zippers. Have a Merry Christmas Mark
  14. Tim Looks good. I see two things that catch my eye right off. 1. That if you where to move your vine work coming off the main flower up to the top of your cut border that would keep the vine work out of the stitching on the bottom. 2. I think it needs a leaf coming out from behind the leaf that you have there, going down into the open space by your makers stamp. I think I would also shorten your stitch length a little, to me that makes it look a little more professional.IMO Tim here is how I do my back belts with a back buckle. You are on the right track. They look good and with every pair you tool I see improvements. Keep up the good work. Mark
  15. Ok Here ade some better pictures of these chinks.
  16. Here is a pair of chinks just off the bench. The picture is not very well so will try to get better ones in the morning. They are buckskin with dark brown fringe, the belt is stamped with Berry King crazy stamp. I will post more pictures with detailed photos of the yoke, side panels and back belt. Thanks for looking and all you advice is welcome. Mark
  17. Nice Job King's X I like the design of the lap top bag. I have been thinking about the same kind of bag for a lap top. Like the saddle bag look. You also did a really nice job on the clutch purse. Do you have any pictures of the insides of the bag I would like to see how your pockets look. Thanks for sharing the picture and keep up the great work. Mark
  18. Thanks everyone for the comments. I will work on the edges more. As you can see from the back pictures the sewing needs help. I really like the advice from Bobby on sewing. I thought of that after I had made that mistake. But that is how I learn the hard way LOL. Here is two more pictures one of the back (with the bad sewing job) and one of the inside. Tim I did use a machine to sew it together. Thanks again for all the help. Mark
  19. Here is a cell phone case I just finished. It is for a blackberry type phone. I used HO leather 6-7 oz.for the main body with 3-4 oz for the gussets. I also lined it with some 2-3 oz leather. sewing in the gusset was a little tough but it worked out OK. Let me know if you see anything that I can work on to make it a better case. Mark

Tim and Crystal You can get SS 3/16" from Weaver Leather for sure, they also have 1/8" in a chrome over brass spot. I also looked at The Standard Rivet Co. and they have spots too might want to check with them also. I have used spot from Weavers and they worked well for me. Good luck hope you find what you are looking for. Mark
