  4. I tooled as it came back to dry after I had formed it and stitched it together. then put a piece of wood in the pocket and cut and stamped the face. I tooled the flap on flat on the bench then stitched it together. I lined it so the snap would not rub on the phone. Hope that helps. Mark
  5. Here is a cell phone case that I made for myself today. Let me know what I can do to make it better. Thanks Mark
  6. I think I might shorten the stitches a little to make it look more custom. Tim This statement does not make much sense, so I will try again. What I was trying to say is that the stitch length is to long IMO by shorting the stitch length it will look more custom. I like smaller stitches. I might be totally wrong. Hope some one will chime in here and let me know if I'm seeing it wrong. Mark
  7. Tim They look great. I think I might shorten the stitches a little to make it look more custom. Still think they look great keep it up. Mark

  12. I am using stuff called milk board that you can get at Home Depot. I is like that stuff Bobby is talking about. It come in 4x8 sheets and you can cut it with a good knife or good set of shears. It is flexable and makes a nice pattern that does not wear on the edges. I had never thought to use it for a stiffener, learn something here every day. Thanks Bob Mark

  18. Hi I am looking for pictures of California style carving patterns. I want to draw my own patterns but need some thing to look at. Hope some one out there might have some pictures of something that they have done or pictures of older carvings. Thanks Mark
  19. Jake I think they look really nice. I have not made any cutting chaps but have made a lot of chinks and shot gun chaps. I have found that a yoke like the one you have made makes no difference in the fit it is all about personal preference. I would also cut the fringe on a stepper angle so it will hang down the leg not stick out from the leg. I have thought about making a pair and I'm thinking about a little flair at the bottom hope some one will chime in here and say if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I try hard to make all lay out marks so they are not seen but with some leather that is hard. I think you did a great job Keep up the good work. you have a nice start that you will refine as you make more we all do. Good Job and thanks for sharing them with us. Mark
