Cracked handle could be filled with colored epoxy. Color to match the wood as close as you can, or a color to compliment your kitchen. CA glue can also be used, Starbond has vids on how to build up layers and color. I fixed an old handle with plastiwood filler.

@SUP I think the ruler is metric, the one is a centimeter, his first post showed them 8mm wide (or long, or left to right). -

@SUP other way around, the ones he wants are thinner, smaller, the 2 in the pic. He says easily bent by hand. -

Nice! Did the thicker foam work for you? Or would a bit thinner be better?
-
@Bert03241 please, I would like to know how it works out for you, and any hints for using it.
-
What thickness of foam? 2mm?
-
May I suggest reaching out to your friends who may have a similar sized weapon? or even a gun shop, then perhaps you would be able to find a pattern for the pistol that closely resembles your Byrna.

These pliers might be helpful when reducing the post...(I got nothing if you get these). I bought these, there are others out there.... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002L6HJAA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

just musing, I wonder how cork "leather" would work as a stiffener? https://www.google.com/search?q=cork+leather&oq=cork+leather&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIGCAEQRRhBMgYIAhBFGEEyBggDEEUYQdIBCDM3MTZqMGo3qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

@Shadders those cheap wood carving tools I linked to are not great, BUT, the straight "chisel" can be easily ground or filed to your desired width, same with the V gouge. Those things are cheap Chinese, so ali express, or one of your local hobby shops or inexpensive tool stores probably has a set. Here is a link, again shows shipping to US, do not know to you, or your VAT or import taxes. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255799842652071.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller.4.626e19c7tm4U6O&gps-id=pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.40000.327270.0&scm_id=1007.40000.327270.0&scm-url=1007.40000.327270.0&pvid=2c0860b8-d0f4-41b7-80ce-343845152b2f&_t=gps-id:pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller,scm-url:1007.40000.327270.0,pvid:2c0860b8-d0f4-41b7-80ce-343845152b2f,tpp_buckets:668%232846%238116%232002&pdp_npi=4%40dis!USD!8.15!7.65!!!58.45!54.86!%402101e62517110121667631756e7e1e!12000027302796103!rec!US!3960785007!&utparam-url=scene%3ApcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller|query_from%3A&search_p4p_id=202403210209268021401770410937712499_3 Enjoy your journey in leather!

Also, there are 1mm carving (wood) chisels, and you might find a 90 deg V carving tool that is 1mm. There are cheap little carving sets that with a file and perhaps pliers you could make the small chisel into 1mm, and the V into a 90, and 1mm This showing shipping to US, don't know your shippling cost https://www.amazon.co.uk/Modelcraft-PCT1006-Carving-Sharpening-Stone/dp/B01N5XWO2J/ref=sr_1_17?crid=1CGMLX9O8DCWI&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Gy29Pv1ByDLpq-CzknxKaf-NSHEmw8MmqjUNii8zdTn56doehZrr14FdCJtXwKre750J0JMumETdbXShGZh53FZbhdx_YfVN529ETdllKW7WPKhHNma70fwVWI_rv0CzYfJJC-waAMxowFRfV_nXxCK7y6sGy1oDVx_eJf1x4XWeZttZQBzS3aL9IB9yWRayMzu8ACO0mUaeho7WVGIDttM44aj_nG-lzLTH8Y2GfgiO8uaYNdjChWpgVIqxS2gzF_sI78Sh5ELgaZVv7OuprM74NKNqIXTMvqOvDFOZqj4.ltPF-oA07Ep_MRbakZvHNS_zQKAujiDTxiMnQYObGEk&dib_tag=se&keywords=wood+carving+tools+set&qid=1710934364&sprefix=wood+carving+to%2Caps%2C225&sr=8-17

Looking for a source for a few things.. any help is appreciated
Wepster replied to ToddW's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Brushes, you say horsehair, like shoe shine brushes? there are a few cobbler/shoe repair sources on line, google and shop them. Hats, I would talk to local embroidery / logo / advertising places, that do hats, t shirts work wear etc. -
Cheap version, I bought one. The brass is sharp on the edges, needs a bit of sanding. Not nearly as nice as the one you show. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805350517464.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.11.27513c20cIb9M9&algo_pvid=6c6dd85f-e4c6-429d-870f-46c80e8df9d2&algo_exp_id=6c6dd85f-e4c6-429d-870f-46c80e8df9d2-5&pdp_npi=4%40dis!USD!15.82!7.91!!!15.82!7.91!%402103237317071299652486362ee0e4!12000033453197044!sea!US!3960785007!&curPageLogUid=2snbwt5AsiOt&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch|query_from%3A

Wonderful! Glad you got the blade dialed in. Seems you are really enjoying it, makes it a great purchase. Always wonder with an item like that, when you can't touch it and try it first.
-
Looks like you got a good one. Nice work on the splitting. Let us know what you find on the blade, was the edge maybe too fine, easily rolled over or ....
-
If it is quite sharp, I would just strop it, to polish the edge. There are so many opinions on sharpening, I would think you should use what you are best with. Which of the many choices on Amazon did you chose? Looking forward to your review of its performance.
