  1. Ok I'm beginning to see how it works. It'll probably make perfect sense to me if I ever actually play a round of golf. Still beautiful work and excellent job on the tooling!
  2. Very clever using the stitching awl! Now my next question: how do you keep your lines so straight???
  3. They look great! Really like the diamond pattern on the one. Was that done with a swivel knife?
  4. Amazing work! Ahhh to have the skills to build a saddle, I could never accomplish something like that. Hats off too ya and keep up the good work!
  5. Beautiful bag! I don't know a whole lot about conditioners and what they're supposed to do, so is somebody else could jump in on this topic that would be great. I just know that when I finish a snakeskin product I finish it with the leather balm to seal it up for protection. Wish I could tell you if your conditioner is accomplishing the same thing or not, but maybe this will get the conversation going to someone more knowledgeable!
  6. Love the designs on those! Keep it up, even if it is women's stuff!
  7. Know this post is kinda old but I just ran across it. I don't really know that much about exotics, but I've started working with snakeskin and I usually seal it with Fiebings leather balm with atom wax. I don't know if your conditioner is supposed to seal it or not, but if it does then my guess would be you're good to go! Again, I'm not that experienced with exotics, so don't take my opinion as expert, just my thoughts on it. Would love to see a pic of the bag! And maybe seeing the condition it's in will help someone else give you an opinion on protecting it.
  8. Thanks for the explanation! Never heard of those, but they might make a handy tool...
  9. Beautiful work!! I've never played golf so I'm probably just ignorant, but it seems like it would be fiddly and difficult to use when actually writing down scores with the elastic in the way. Maybe it's not in the way and I just don't understand golf...
  10. Looks great! But I'm confused as to what it actually is...
  11. Woah that is some seriously awesome work! I've never seen bullet loops like that, but that's a really great design.

    Enjoy it

Thank you for sharing! That really is flawless work. The edges and dye work are amazing

Beautiful work!! Could you give us some details and tell a little bit about it?
  14. Turned out great! Always wanted to try rolled handles but haven't got around to it yet. Agree about the hello kitty stamp lol

    Tote bag

Looks good and great idea to use recycled couch leather!
  16. That is incredible!! Very well done! I especially love how you did the letters, they look very simple but clean and elegant at the same time. Really just all around beautiful work and something unique that I've not seen before.

    New tote bag

Actually I did try but didn't have much success trying to burnish the edges. I tried gum Trag and it just didn't really seem to do anything when I tried to burnish it. So any advice on that would be greatly appreciated
  18. Stunning work! Your skill and talent always amaze me!

    New tote bag

Thank you! Thank you! She was over the moon about it! Thank you! Make sure and post pics when you finish yours! Definitely takes some time to get going with leather, but every project will get easier. Keep at it! Thanks! Thanks! Might be on to something with that key ring, now if I only remember it when the next holiday comes around... Thank you! Pocket book is a tempting idea too, might have to try both... Thank you! The zipper thing just kinda happened, didn't start out with a plan to do that, but started looking at how it was coming together and the idea formed itself

    New tote bag

Hey all! Haven't posted anything on the forum in awhile but thought I'd share one of my recent projects. Put this little tote bag together in a couple hours for a last minute birthday present for mom. I never have ideas for what to make people till it's almost too late to get them done lol! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. This was my first try at decorative stitching and I really like how it looks. One unique feature that I'm really liking on this is that I used a really long zipper which enabled the zipper flaps to fold down completely out of the way on the inside so there's an option to leave it as an open top bag or zippered. Thanks for looking! Always open to tips and suggestions!
  21. Very nicely done! Beautiful work! Never heard of silhouette carving before but I'm very intrigued. Definitely gonna have to give it a go for myself
  22. Wow! Just all around beautiful work! Keep it up!
  23. Actually it is multiple layers on the front. Made the exterior in three pieces (top, bottom, spine) and put it together. I did the stitching over the layer because I thought it would help prevent those corners from coming up any over time Thanks! Thank you! Finish is Fiebings leather balm with atom wax @JLSleather thank you so much for all that info about needles!! Never knew there were so many options, and was never happy with how gaping my needle holes were. This helps so much though! Also, not entirely sure what 'thing' you're referring to, unless maybe it's that little spot where I went over with contact cement when I put the pieces together. If so, that spot rubbed off easily later when I noticed it. Thank you!
  24. Just finished this graduation photo album! Really happy with how it came out. 4-5 oz veg, pigskin lining and pockets. Critiques accepted Also, apologies for having to block out last name on cover. The young lady I made it for requested I not post it with her full name on it. Thanks for looking y'all!
