Here is a NEW design concept I have been working on to cut leather belt straps? The guides and the tooling are self centered. No Setup on tool changes, just drag and drop. What do you think? Any improvements, comments or suggestions? Please share the leather belt strap punch and cutters that you use?

I'm teasing the idea of getting some sort of a strap cutting tool and I'm wondering what type people think is best. Looking at the Tandy site, it seems like I've got two real (and easily) accessible options. The draw gauge (https://www.tandyleather.com/en/product/craftool-draw-gauge) and the strap cutter (https://www.tandyleather.com/en/product/craftool-strap-cutter). I'm totally new to strap cutting and in general I think I'd be wanting to cut straps between 1/2" and 2" wide. Does anybody have any experience with either or both of these tools or an opinion? P.s. I'm also open to another tool that's not too hard to get your hands on/won't break the bank if anybody knows of anything.

Hello everyone, I'm a little lost. I'm looking for a strap cutting tool for soft leather. Tried the manual strap cutting tool, but there is no way I can get it to cut straps. Of course, there's the ruler method, but apart from that, is there any reasonably priced small machine that can help me achieve this which you can recommend?

I’ve got an older 3 phase 220 Atlas Strap cutter for sale. Bought it from an auction and couldn’t install 220 in my shop so I bought a newer 110 version. It came from a saddlery shop and was ran the week before I took it home. I have plenty of spacers and blades for it though they probably need cleaned up a bit but it would be a great addition to any shop. I have been told it would be very easy to transform to a 110 servo style motor but I just haven’t gotten around to it. I can ship at buyers cost. $800obo

Thinking that I was going to be doing more lacing than I am, I purchased a lace cutter/Beveler, splitter from Mr. Clint Sims last summer. I tracked his email down through a leather forum, as it seems he has an almost cult-like following and you can’t find these little machines for sale anywhere. He has been machining these tools for fifteen years and the one I got is the most recent generation. I HAVE NEVER USED THIS TOOL. I never even set it up and read all the way through the instructions that he emailed me, because my business turned in a different direction and I found myself not needing to make my own lace. All pieces are included, down to the blades that he taped together and his little hand written notes warning me that they are sharp and how to properly mount the tool I paid $310 (can provide all email and receipt documentation). I’d like someone to be able to use it. Selling it for $300 shipped, but also willing to entertain (very reasonable) offers. It’s brand spanking new. Includes all emailed instructions for set up and use from the man himself. Additional photos can be provided per request ( I wasn’t able to upload all of them on here).

Landis Belt Press that I bought in Canada directly from Landis factory and I refurbished it cosmetically. This machine is 110V electric and will punch all belt holes and tip of belt with ease. The current die is the original and comes with the sale but this machine needs a new die made. Everything works great, but again, the die needs replacing which you can have made by Campbell-Randall for $350-$400. Motor is very strong, has fresh paint and oiled well. This is a very rare machine and I have never found one like it. Used in my belt shop but need to make room in shop for bigger equipment. Foot pedal and hand operation methods (they are interlinked so operate as you choose. Asking $3800. Must pick up or YOU arrange for it to be picked up. I can crate to for you for $200. This is a rare and reliable piece of machinery for your leather shop. Don't let it pass you by. Questions? Please reply to post thanks! My zip code is 90731 which is where this machine is located.
