I want to make more costume and armor pieces, and right now my wife wants me to make her a hood (she calls it an Assassins Creed hood) so she can cosplay her rogue from Pathfinder at the Renaissance Festival this year. And I have some really good lambskin I think will work, I just ... don't know how to do it. Are there patterns available for this sort of thing? Not just hoods but other clothing too. I don't mind paying a little bit for a good pattern as long as it doesn't cost a fortune. TIA.

Well it's been nearly a year since I first got into leather working. This is my most recent project, a leather cuirass with a matching oversized belt.

A custom order to be used in a Larp ( live action roleplaying game ) here in Sweden. Took about 40 hours all and all. The entire build is from Vegetable tanned leather. Patterns, colors and patina grew up throughout the build and it´s fully sealed for use outdoors in rain and the cold.

Hey everyone, ally When I first got into leather a few years ago I eventually wanted to shift into doing armor, and things of midieval influence. Well I've finally gotten to start that transition! My oldest son joined the local LARP group, which we didn't even know we had one here, and of course started begging for armor. It was definitely fun to make, and I'm looking forward to making more! I also put on a tournament on one of their game days, winner gets a fully custom set of bracers. This was the prize.

And here´s just a new sheath I made some time ago. Sadly I was a little late, so I didn´t get the chance to make some photos. Luckily, the new owner send me some I actually can use It is lined with loden and formed over a wooden model. The design was a special whish of the customer (including the knot-thing on the upper end). Hope you like it.

Hi y'all! I'm a medieval geek from Montréal with a passion for costuming, swordfight and more recently leatherworking. I've always been fascinated with leather armors and all the intricate techniques that are implied un their making. In the past month, I finally geared up with the essential. I am now crafting pieces of armor and celtic-themed accessories of my own. Anybody else in the area? Anyhow, I can't wait tout get criticism from you people! By the way, I'm looking for good armor patterns, anybody has some good websites that could help In my quest for the most epic armor In the universe?

Here are a couple of close-ups of a "scaled" cuirass (chest/torso armour) I'm making for a LARP I play. I'm more eager to show these off than I am waiting for a decent charge on my camera to get some better shots, instead of cellphone pics I uploaded for Instagram. What you're looking at is the upper back with the larger scales on the left/right side of the pic being the spine/middle of the piece. The tooling was done about two years ago on 10oz (I think) leather. The dye was only a couple of days ago. Still needs the top coat... and all the findings, metal plates, spikes, etc. It's slow going 'cause this is for me, so I'm losing money on it.

So I got another order for a custom sheath for a larp-seax with some decent tooling: I know there might be just a few of you who are interested in the larp-scene, but as it is still some leatherwork, I´ll just post it here It´s lined with loden and made of 3,5mm cowhide. Colored, tooled and stitched by hand.

Hi All, I just recently went live with my Etsy store called "Axis Leatherworks". I just recently got into the leatherworking and have spent the last few months learning and crafting Nerf holsters and accessories. My target market is for the LARPer and cosplayers as well as Nerf enthusiasts of all ages. I utilized many of the resources posted by others here on the forums as well as the many Etsy store resources available online to get the store up and running. https://www.etsy.com...xisLeatherworks I would appreciate any input and feedback you could provide in regards to the stores’ layout, item descriptions, photos , policy descriptions, tag usage, etc. I want make sure the website looks and feels as professional as possible to a user. Thanks ahead for the help! - Dan

Being an avid gamer I couldn't help myself. Quick explanation for non gamers, In Dungeons and Dragons, the player guides his character through a story, a well played game can resemble a novel. The players roll various die to determine a random number to resolve actions in the game... I hope this makes sense, Anyway, one of the most reviled die in the game is the 4 sided die, this little pyramid of death has hidden in shag carpets and damaged geek feets for years. So, this is a 4" leather 4 sided die, I hope you guys like it, I had a ball making it. There are several other unusual dice in the game and I am going to try to reproduce them over the next few weeks Thanx Geo

So this is a comission I got a little crazy about as I just ruined it totally bye trying to harden it....-.- (and I made a test piece... -.-) So actually it had to be made twice. The second time I skipped the hardening stuff, just soaked it a bit and baked it on a lower temperature so it would get stiffer, but not hardened (and not ruined) All in all I am quite happy how it turned out due to the fact that this is my first attempt on celtic ornaments (others than just celtic knotwork). It is for a larp-sax, so it is not that thin. But anyway... hope you like it

Hi there, even if I think that a lot of you are mainly interested in stuff for other areas, i just wanted to show you two sheaths I made for a larp sword and a larp sax. Sadly the leather isn´t that good quality so the tooling came out quite unsatisfying. Gotta find a better leather-source.... Bot are wetformed by using a wooden model an lined with loden. The fur is from a goat. Hope you like it
