Members Gezzer Posted June 7, 2023 Members Report Posted June 7, 2023 and it actually works . Kind of cheesy I know but I wear hats and now I can have hat pegs in every room . I had a little fun with this one but a fellow could do some nice tooling and they would look cooler . Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted June 7, 2023 Contributing Member Report Posted June 7, 2023 Thats a cute idea for Pinocchio's nose or, Clint Eastwood's 'man with no name' character's ceegarrs Quote
Members Bert03241 Posted June 7, 2023 Members Report Posted June 7, 2023 Cool Gezzer now the idea's are limitless , gun barrels, fingers, ect ect can't wait to see your next one. Quote
Members dikman Posted June 7, 2023 Members Report Posted June 7, 2023 (edited) Well, that's different. If you're a shooter perhaps you could use a brass cartridge case (dummy round) for the peg? Edited June 7, 2023 by dikman Quote
Members SUP Posted June 7, 2023 Members Report Posted June 7, 2023 Love the Pinocchio idea and your Pinocchio face is really nice. Quote
Members Gezzer Posted June 8, 2023 Author Members Report Posted June 8, 2023 The first ( all leather one ) was meant mostly for fun hence Pinocchio and I was surprised when it worked . A little too much skiving and wet molding for what it does so here is version 2.. I will make several to place around the house for convenience , Wool dauber cut and bent , couple of whip stitches ..... much quicker and looks better imo . Quote
Members Heartless Posted June 8, 2023 Members Report Posted June 8, 2023 honestly, i like the Pinocchio one better, lol Quote
Members Gezzer Posted June 8, 2023 Author Members Report Posted June 8, 2023 Final iteration ............ Quote

Members dikman Posted June 8, 2023 Members Report Posted June 8, 2023 The last one is obviously a lot more work but looks very classy. The second one looks cheap and nasty (stamping is ok, but the wire.....not so much). Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted June 9, 2023 Contributing Member Report Posted June 9, 2023 The wire one looks like an old fashioned paper bills spike for a desk. The last one looks better. I prefer a large area on the end of the arm for my hats to hang on. You used to get special hat hanging hooks which had a big ball on the end A table tennis ball with a slot cut in it slipped over that arm would do the job. The t-t ball could be spray painted before fitting. It helps stop a crease or dinge forming in the hat material Old style hat hook; Quote

Good news is it didn't take much to convert it . @fredk I remember my father had hooks like the one you posted . I like to hang my hats but I have heard it is best to lay them crown down on a flat surface , I don't know . Quote
