Very, very nice

But, replace that lock nut with an acorn nut. It would look so much better

There's a story behind the reason that an acorn nut is not there. I'd tell you, but I don't want to embarrass myself.

Beautiful work on that handle. Very attractive as well as functional.

As an alternative to putting an acorn nut on the head end, just recess the nylock nut so you can stand the maul on its end if you wish. I did that with one I made. Not a maul but a mallet. Still it's nice to not have anything sticking out up there.

I turned my wood mauls with a flat top. But I just knock them over all the time, so I don't stand them up.

LOL, I understand that. I don't stand mine up either but some people do so they don't roll off the work bench. Then that's not an issue. Enjoy that fine maul you made.

Well, for appearances sake could you glue a black plastic 'dome nut' cover on?

Loving the way the curves intersect the grid to produce such eyecatching patterns.

With you on the not standing it on end issue too. I usually use one of my shot filled weight bags to plonk it on. It stay where I leave it then.
