RStevenson Report post Posted June 6, 2015 (edited) I was thinking it would be helpful to have a list of leather suppliers and their websites for people to easily refer to. Hopefully it can be stickied if possible. Most of my knowledge is of north american suppliers so feel free to include more and I can add them to the list. Horween (USA) - http://www.tandyleather,com, http://www.tandyleather.ca Springfield Leather Company (USA) - http://springfieldleather.com/ (phone orders recommended) Buck Skin Leather (CAN) - https://www.buckskinleather.com/ Tundra Leather (CAN) - http://www.tundraleather.ca Abbey England (UK) - http://www.abbeysaddlery.co.uk/ A.A Crack and Sons (UK) - http://www.aacrack.co.uk/ Edited June 6, 2015 by RStevenson

SissipahawLeatherCo Report post Posted November 25, 2015 Zack White Leather (USA) - Large selection of every kind of leather under the moon, often stock Horween brand leather, lots of tools, dyes, hardware, and more. Colorado Leather Goods (USA) - Great source for deer skin and elk skin at excellent prices, large selection of beads. With both companies it's best to call in your order as they are slow about updating their website inventory.

nrk Report post Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) Because it's rarely true. so, you state that there is a difference between Tannery Row (the original) and the Maverick? how is it possible? don't the original source, in the meaning, provide A grade or the best? do they fool the buyers with the poor quality items? Matt T Report post Posted March 15, 2016 so, you state that there is a difference between Tannery Row (the original) and the Maverick? how is it possible? don't the original source, in the meaning, provide A grade or the best? do they fool the buyers with the poor quality items? I would guess there are some first grade items that end up at Maverick because they are a custom run that ended up with a color that wasn't quite right, for example. It's a gamble though, because it's hard to know the real reason why they are being sold there - something like loose grain might not show up in the pictures. Aika Report post Posted March 23, 2016 I buy tooling leather from Paul Patricks, so far it is cheapest in the UK, most affordable and very good quality leather, here is the copy-paste from e-mail I have received from Paul. Delivery is very quick and I know he even sends leather abroad (Russian, Europe, USA). He also has English Bridle leather at very competitive prices. Leather description and prices as discussed. 1. Natural Vegetable Tanned Full Grain Leather from Italy – Dimensions of Double Butts approx. 130-140cms long x 130-140cms wide. Thicknesses available 3.2 – 3.5mm and 2.0 – 2.5mm. Price: £4.90 per sq ft for both thicknesses. Shoulder price: 2.0-2.5mm is £4.45 per sq ft. 2. Finished and Dyed Thro Full Grain leather from Italy. Dimensions of Double Butts as above. Colours always held in stock are Black, Red and Chestnut. Thickness available 3.2 – 3.5mm only. Price £5.60 per sq ft. Vat not charged outside Europe. I hope the above helps with your sales to Kazakhstan and Russia Best regards Paul Patrick Leather Co Limited 0121 355 6167

Got burnt on what is advertised as sole bend but turned out to be what I call linoleum leather -- hard rolled leather with a thick painted tan surface. It was so-so thick and quite pliable. I didn't return it because I never return, and will not return. They come off like huckster used car salesmen and that turns me off. I just let greed get away with my better judgement that time, knowing full well that getting high quality sole bends at 1/2 - 1/3 normal retail is about as like as _________________________ [insert your favorite impossible analogy]. Surprised that nobody has mentioned this tannery, one of the oldest and best quality in the US (among the top three I'd say): Wicket & Craig -- Gorgeous leather. Unlike Horween and Herman Oak, you can buy direct from the tannery and there isn't (or wasn't) an order minimum. The downside is they do bidness the old fashioned way, phone calls and sales people are slow to get back with you and they're slow getting your order out, It's not that they are incompetent, they just like doing business like they have been doing since the 70s. I'm just guessing that Old Man Whomever dictates that and the heirs are chompin at the bit to use those new fangled online ordering systems. I identify with four meanings but there may be more 1) Very strong form of agreement, perfect agreement 2) Affirmation of a truth 3) A compliment to the sender 4) Acknowledgement that you are unable to improve on what has already been said perfectly Yeah, that's a pretty cool word all right. They admit they have nothing to add, but feel the need to comment anyway. I don't let it 'get to me' too much, but I'm never likely to grasp why, when someone ask a question on a forum, some feel teh need to pop in to say "I don't know". By the way, where is Tannery Row? Up the street from Skid Row, maybe?
