Members Bonk Posted March 20, 2018 Members Report Posted March 20, 2018 I designed and created this bag for a professional photographer in Belgium. There is space for a 13inch laptop, camera and 2 lenzes, at the back there is a zipper for paper work. 2 front pockets and 2 pen holders. Rockoboy Posted March 20, 2018 Report Posted March 20, 2018 Very nice job. Is the back lined, but not the rest of the bag? Members DrmCa Posted March 20, 2018 Members Report Posted March 20, 2018 Lining would make this awesome bag even better. I found that unlined leather might shed crumbs which get stuck to paper, plastic etc due to statics. Members Retswerb Posted March 23, 2018 Members Report Posted March 23, 2018 That is sharp! Nice work. What’s the leather? Quote
Members Bolt Vanderhuge Posted March 23, 2018 Members Report Posted March 23, 2018 That looks great. Thanks for sharing. Quote
Members baroness Posted March 26, 2018 Members Report Posted March 26, 2018 Very nice work. That is a lot of stitching and looks great. Might I ask what finish you put on the leather, I'm guessing that is vegetable tanned. Quote
Members charon Posted March 26, 2018 Members Report Posted March 26, 2018 Awesome work. And I like your makers mark Quote
bikermutt07 Posted March 26, 2018 Report Posted March 26, 2018 Great job. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Members ComputerDoctor Posted April 1, 2018 Members Report Posted April 1, 2018 Very nice and only those that have made projects like that can appreciate the amount of time and creative effort it takes from start to finish:) Sam:) Quote
Members Bonk Posted April 11, 2018 Author Members Report Posted April 11, 2018 Thanks all for the great comments. It is indeed vegetable tanned leather, for the finish I only use leather oil. The client wanted his bag as natural as possible. I first was thinking of lining it, but I decided not to do this as I'm more from the principle, 'less is more'. The less you have, the less that can brake... I did put a resolene finish on the inside of the bag so you have less crumbs... What kind of lining would you guys propose for this kind of bag ? It was a lot of work, but the result makes this good ... Below you find the back of the camera bag with a zipper and my makers mark. The mark at the front is the mark from the profesional photographer. Quote Leathercraft Zappas Facebook Leersnijder Zappas “A mind is like a parachute.
