About Me

I hate these pages :blahblahblah: I mean does anyone want to know about me? :evillaugh: OK, I'll stick to the leather-work part. I'm on disability and I'm always trying to make up ways of making extra money. I sold on yahoo back in the dark ages when they had an action site. I've listed a few other places but not with much success, well except eBay and unfortunately when I would go to check on my auctions, I ended up spending more than I made. I got interested in leather work over a year ago, and started with conchos. I put all Vintage decorations on them but I was before or behind my time. No one wanted leather sets, no one cared they had good vintage items on them, or that they were handmade. I just kept making them but no one was buying them. But I couldn't quit, I love the feel, smell and sight of leather. And when I made something and it came out like I wanted or better, I was so pleased. OK, let's see, over a year in leather work (also made a couple of ID tags for a woman on a horse forum) so add up all the sales, and it comes to uh let's see, 3 :-) I sold one pair of conchos a couple of months ago and it was the first set I made, so I remade them practically so they would last forever. And two ID tags. Well I decorated a bridle I had here and liked the way it turned out, so I decided I wanted to branch out. Well it took a few months but I decided I wanted to. Now the woman I made the ID tags for and I became good friends, and I talked to her about it, and we decided to start a company. She is a part owner in an appraisal company, and wicked smart, knows all the laws, etc. And she has a horse of course so that helps. I went to visit her just a couple weeks ago in Baltimore, first time we'd met face to face. So she sent me back with leather-work projects up to my eyebrows and I'm loving it. I'm doing 4 at the same time so hopefully I can get some pics for our website Tuesday when I go visit the famous model (and my horse) Sienna. I think horse things look better and give people a better idea of of what they are getting when they see it on a horse.
My friend and partner found this forum from me, because I'm the leather part of this. (But I look at other people's things they make and wonder at my arrogance thinking I will ever half of that art and talent.) I just read this and I see so many mistakes from a person who writes, 2 published SSs and might have my novel published if I could ever afford to get it edited, have a company interested in it. I hope I was sleep walking when i wrote this, especially the last line. That looks like I learned English as a second language, and not very well. In a way I did, I'm originally from Appalachian Ohio :helpsmilie:

I just noticed this was running 1/2 down the page so deleted it all. I'll shorten it to I like a lot of things, especially creating things from curtains to conchos and beyond :-)
