very cool!!!! you give me inspiration as well as others on the site I'm sure. Much more creative than a cut-and-paste laser image IMO. My old art teacher would say. Put some shadow texture in to ground your cannon and building a bit.

Interesting indeed. Maybe throw some tin in with it; bronze might turn better on the lathe.

Seems I broke my Juki-LS-341, again... (Bobbin Shuttle)

I have now managed to do the needle-hook timing. While the gear on the horizontal shaft was indeed very stuck, what worked for me was to insert the hex key and turn the shaft, and with enough leverage, I was able to turn the gear on the shaft to adjust the needle-hook timing. Additionally, I saw that I also had to adjust the position of the tip of the hook as it was hitting the needle slightly. This is where I made one mistake as I first loosened the screw for the Inner Hook Guide instead of the hook driving shaft saddle. So after I finished the Hook-Needle Timing, I wanted to adjust the position of the Inner Hook Guide again , but no matter how close I set it, it releases the bottom thread way too early (I once again attached another video) So did I do something wrong with the hook-needle timing? I had to adjust it further than I would have originally thought. So, did I maybe miss something in regards to the stitch cycle in which the parts work together? I tried to look at some other resources, but could not spot an issue or difference. I really tried all options with the possible positioning of the Inner Hook Guide, so I don't think it could be just that. So once again, I hope you have some ideas or help. But I really think this should be the last step. At least after this whole ordeal, I feel much more confident regarding any issues my sewing machine might throw at me in the future 😂 PXL_20251030_164552655 (1).mp4 Kind Regards Josh -
This thread’s a bit older, but for anyone still looking — I make hand-cast solid brass hardware (buckles, rings, loops) from my small workshop in Kenya under Bob’s Brassware. Small-batch, solid brass pieces made for other makers: bobsbrassware.com — John

@kgg How big of hole will the Class 26 Cobra punch into the leather? Will it be a 2 1/2" finishing nail also? Is the 26 too large for wallets and dress belts? Thanks in advance!

Man that sounds good , Here is what i made the wife for our 45th anniversary last night. fresh Spike Elk Backstrap. Lovingly taken by my son in a canyon so steep and full of brush a horse cant even get close. We had to quarter and pack out the meat on foot, only took about 10 hours or so from the first shot to getting him in the truck, i carried these out in my pack. while also carrying a quarter. Two weeks of hard hunting and we have two wonderful elk to butcher. BTW beef steaks of half this quality are about 20 bucks a pound here in the store. LOl with two Elk ima gonna have all these, except the night light, exchanging it for some nice handmade leather. -
Introducing Bob’s Brassware (Kenya)
Bobs Brassware replied to Bobs Brassware's topic in Member Gallery
@AlZilla Thanks, AlZilla — really appreciate the warm welcome! Yes, that’s correct — we’re working with a micro-fulfilment partner in the U.S. who helps us consolidate shipments from Kenya and distribute them locally. That setup lets us offer free domestic shipping (and a small bag of medium-roast Kenyan coffee ☕) to U.S. customers who place pre-orders before November 30th. All orders are tracked and protected through PayPal Buyer Protection. Thanks again for checking out the site and for the kind words! John -
If you lived a lot closer . . . I'd say load up the pickup with the knife and come on up . . . would be fun to make a sheath for that beauty May God bless, Dwight

What country do you come from? College Sewing and Trojan Sewing in the UK have tapered bore pulleys. I cannot reach the College Sewing website atm seems it is down for maintenance or so https://www.trojansewing.co.uk/?s=tapered&post_type=product&type_aws=true

Robert asked the televangelist to pray for his hearing. After 3 minutes of violent shaking and trying to push him over backwards, the preacher asked, "How's your hearing now?" "I don't know," Robert replied. "It doesn't take place until Thursday at the courthouse!" As someone who's seriously hearing impaired, a Christian, and has had numerous preachers pray for me, I find this seriously funny. I believe Jesus heals, but he did it without the shaking, yelling and pushing people over backwards!

LOL! Who would have thought they'd actually WANT the spuds?? Oh. Wait. You live in Ireland...

Very nicely done . I just use an oblong punch and a BFH: 'big f**ing hammer' HS

Thank you, the frame came from Walmart or Hobby Lobby. I would suggest having a little figure carving experience. Different stamps are used than in floral, mainly the bevelers designed completely different. My Bear and Son's Bowie knife came today, it needs a fitting sheat for it. The knife is made in Jacksonville, Alabama. My home state.

Stitchman Servo Motor (The Missing Manual)
BDLS replied to friquant's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Where did you source the small pulley? -
I bought a Chinese servo motor for my 111w155. It came with a 75mm pulley. I need a 45mm. This issue is the bore on the pulley is tapered. It’s 9mm at the nut side of the pulley and gets larger towards the motor. I can’t find a source for this pulley. Any help?

It's funny stuff, my first cuts were using a carbide bit and it actually caused the bit to chip! I reverted to a sharp high-speed steel bit and that went fine until it galled, left a surface with little raised bits on it. I then took very light cuts to smooth it out , used a fine file and sandpaper and finished off on a buffer. Brass is much better to work with on the lathe, I don't think I'll be doing much more with copper. It was an interesting experiment, however, and at least copper doesn't give off those nasty zinc fumes when it's melting. Having said that, kgg got me thinking - a hammer-head profile like a cobbler's hammer might be nice, copper has the weight for it.

241-13 industrial singer stitch regulator jammed

Can I please get a little more information. I'm having the same problem. In the first step, do you mean you tightened it even more to break something on purpose? -
