  5. I would see how many square feet is in the double shoulder. Then convert that to square inches and figure what it cost a square inch. Then figure how many inches you have in a belt. Add on what you need to make something on the leather. Time your self on doing a belt start to finish and figure what you need to make a hour. Add the leather cost and your wage plus some profit and you have your price.
  6. That's great news and you will be able to learn a trade that will helps lots of folks.

  9. Sounds like your either pushing to hard on the stylus or it has a burr on the end. It should be smooth like a ink pen tip.
  10. Leatherman if i was you i would try things out on something cheaper than a Croc hide. The last i checked Croc hide was pretty expensive. Espically for the first time doing something.
  11. Take your dividers and scrip a light line to go by. The stamp will cover the line when you stamp.
  12. Ray and Steve i don't think i'll be going to the races anytime soon. Somebody chopped my Money Tree down and i didn't win the lottery last night...LOL.
  13. Harbor Feright sells some cheap drill presses and you could chuck a awl in it. I belive i seen where some folks were doing that on here.

  17. I was one of the ones that looked earlier and said nothing. I think you did a good job on all of it but the left arm of the guy fishing. It looks to me like he has a club for a arm. Not i could do any better. That's just what popped out to me when i looked.
  18. I'm glad to hear that ya got it figured out. That's great news !!
  19. I've never heard of rough out dye. If i had something to dye that was rough out i'd use what i always use. Regular dye.
  20. Your welcome. I'm not a mechanic by any means but i did fool with a couple for several years. When you open the door where shuttle and bobbin is and turn it by hand is the hook / looper that comes and catches the thread is it catching the thread ? Sometimes they get out of wack and get turned just enough to mess things up.
  21. It's really hard to read with all of it being in one big paragraph. I get lost about halfway through.
  22. Bevan had pictures of one to. I think he was the one that come up with ideal to start with.
  23. In the first picture it looks like where it's messed you started putting the dye on and it puddled. I never have put dye on wet leather. I don't put anything on the leather before i start like oil or water. When i dye i use a piece of trimed sheep wool most of the time. I hold the wool over the end of the bottle and tilt it over to get dye on the wool and then rake it across the top of the bottle to get excess dye off. Then going in a circle motion, some times i need to do two coats. Wear some gloves to if you don't want funny colored fingers. Good luck.
  24. I haven't sold anything on ebay in a couple of years at least. But i have sent things to Canada, UK, Denmark, New Zeland and other places in Europe for generally around $10.00 in my box first class. I give them the choice of first class, priority mail or express mail. If they choose to go with no insurance i tell them up front that it's their baby if something happens to it. In the last 10 years i had one lady in the UK say she didn't her package it was sent first class. Now wheither she did or didn't i don't know. That is one out of around 50 to 75 packages.
