  1. I had forgot that it was illegal to have anything eagle. But i remember seeing on the TV 3 or 4 years ago a woman got busted for having a eagle feather that she picked up off the ground at a zoo. After lots of lawyer bills and a few times in court i think she got off.
  2. Your a 100% right about a poundo board grabbing your knife. I use the white cutting boards like the ones you can get at wal mart and other places and i don't think it dulls your knife. They sure make cutting easier.
  3. If you get a good maul you will throw rocks at the mallet. I know because i used a malletl just like for a couple of years then got a maul daylight and dark difference.
  4. Your welcome. I hope your whistle turns out great.

  6. Try putting a small washer or two in to fill out the space.
  7. If you use a contact cement like barge or masters put a 1/4 or so line on both pieces and let it get tacky and start attaching the gusset it should stick fine. But if it doesn't then use the spring clamps. I just looked at the box and their called binder clips. You get most anyplace that sells office stuff.
  8. I'm like you i haven't had much luck getting a clean cut. A regular Skill saw works but it's hard for me to get the cuts lined up because the blade won't cut all the way through. I'm going to try it on my table saw and see if that works. Or maybe try a nylon string like builders use. Don't laugh i know you can use it to cut a plastic pipe into. I've done that a few times.
  9. Thanks for the list. I'll be sure and take a look at them.
  10. Spinner that is a great piece of work !!
  11. Cut a piece 2 1/2 inches wide by a couple of inches longer. Glue it to your front first and then the back or you can start with the front piece if you want. You may need to hold it with some spring clamps and you may need to put a piece in between the claps so you don't mark your pouch pieces and sew the gusset in. Leave a little extra on both ends and cut off extra when your done. That's how i do them anyway.
  12. What brand of tools did you use ? If you remember that would be good place to start looking for a supplier or ebay.

  14. When you find a machine you like. I would take pieces of what ever you want to sew with you or send to the person and have them sew it for you and see if it will do what you want. .

  23. Needles will wear out. The point will get dull / rounded. It just depends on the hardness, thickness of the leather the amount of sewing you do or repair work. I have had to replace a brand new needle after sewing one set of skirts off a dirty saddle. Sometimes you will notice a different sound when sewing. You can take the needle out and check it to if you think it might be dull or getting dull. I have sharpened them on a stone a few times and use the stone to know off a burr that you will get sometimes.
  24. That's pretty durn neat !
