  1. You did a great job! Your stitching looks prefect to me. I'll throw in a Gold Star to go along with Luke's A+.
  2. Ray sounds like a couple of customres i have had. They had bought some junk headstalls and brought them buy to show me. Then telling they were better and cheaper. Well they were cheaper both in price and quality. When i pointed that out i was told they were better because he the shop they bought them at was bigger than mine. I'm like DUH !!! I never knew a bigger shop put out a better product than small shop. It's just like Ron White says you can't FIX STUPID !! Tell Ray to buy from the other folks sense theirs are better than yours and let him get burned with poor quality and higher prices.
  3. If you have a scanner try that. When i scan pictures they come on to the screen like a 1000 wide by whatever length and then i resize them. Or you might try taking a picture of the picture. If you want to.
  4. Nice looking holsters !! A belt is alot simpler to make than holster, go for it ! You know what they go big or go home .
  5. Do you have a bigger picture that one is pretty small and i can't really tell anything about your chinks.
  6. Hi Kate, Great job, you have out done your self ! It's so nice i'd hate to play checkers or chess on it.
  7. I use fine grit wet and dry sand paper that i get from the auto parts store. But you can probley find the same thing at a hardware store to.
  8. What you have done is fine. Unless i misunderstood it what you wrote. If i did no problem.
  9. I would like to learn something new in Photoshop if you want to show how to do it.
  10. I had one that was the same way. The blade would come out of the handle once in a while. To fix it i took the blade out and mixed some JB Weld up put that it in handle then put the blade back in and let it dry. Worked fine.
  11. I bought one several yars ago and i hate it. It never was sharp and i belive you could strop it all day ever day and it wouldn't help. My vote is save ya money and get a good steel blade or a good knife and blade togeather. Other folks might of had better luck them than me.
  12. Those are real nice looking knives.
  13. Hi Wyldflower, i think your chinks look fine espically for your first time. When i make a pair for a customer i have a base pattern made out of poster board and hold that around their leg to see how they fit. Then you can mark it and and cut or add on. If you cut to much off tape the piece you cut off back on and go again. Plus save all of your patterns. They may fit the next customer at worst you can see how much you need to add or take off for them to fit. Poster board is your friend and a lot cheaper than leather. John
  14. Dang it's real looking !!! Great job Clay !!!
  15. I scaned that. The biggest font i have been able to print useing email was 1/2 inch after it's printed. Their used to be a option to where you could over ride the size limit and may still be but i can't find it. I know they can be made bigger but i don't know how. You might ask Bruce or Hidpounder what program they use for bigger fonts. I know other folks do to but they poped in my head.
  16. Now that is FUNNY !!!!!!!
  17. I dip mine and have for 20 years. Trick is not to leave them in the oil. I dip them bring them out and let the reins, headstalls or what ever i'm making drain. Then put what ever finsh i'm useing on them and put them togeather. That's for a regular darker color. For light oiled things i put it on by hand. If you put something in the oil and leave it will come out on your clothes and be oily in your hands espically in hot weather. I've seen several saddles ruined from people thinking if a little oil is good alot must be better and that's not the case.
  18. How much do you want for them ?
  19. Like the others have said get a cheap punch and grind it off. Check it as you grind on a piece of scrap leather so you can see what the plinked looks like. I've done it and it's not hard to do.
  20. After looking at the pattern on ebay why don't you make a pattern it looks pretty simple to do. Measure your waist. Get the size buckle you want to use. Take a piece of poster board and draw it out at the widest width and then taper it down to where it fits the buckle on both ends. Then put what ever style of design you want on it.
  21. Mighty fine work on your seat !! That is the realest looking skull i belive i have ever seen.
  22. Hilly, i'm just guessing because i have never done one. But i think you would want to make it a little smaller so you could draw it up tight when you laced it. Maybe put a tounge in betwen the pieces kinda like a tounge on a shoe and double it it where the lacing goes through the leather so it won't tear out.
  23. Hi Lars, i have the same machine and was wondering if maybe you have the bobbin thread coming in the wrong direction. I'll look at mine in the morning and see if i see anything that will help you. Maybe somebody a whloe lot smarter than me will give you their ideals.
  24. You did a real nice job on the cover. Your customer is going to be really happy with your work.
