  1. Maybe you roller is bent a little. I think it will lift out and you can roll it on something you know is flat. I do know that if you tighten up one side of the blade more than the other it will pull one side of the blade out of line a little. Do you snug both sides and then tighten ? One other thing i think their is a adjustment screw on the back for both sides of the blade so you can adjust both sides of the blade. It's been awhile sense i have really looked at one like yours.
  2. Skip i would think you could just ceneter the blade over the roller and tighten it up unless over the years you have sharpened one side more than the other. If the blade is crooked or bent you should be able to see that i would think. Is their anything under the roller making it set off to one side ? I know on my splitter i have wore more off of one side of the blade than the other when i sharpened it over the years.
  3. Don't use a belly. It will strech all out of shape in no time. Skirting, harness, latigo leather are all fine for making headstalls.
  4. A couple of times i have had good luck getting glue off with Pink Eraser brand erasers other brands might work as well or better, i'm not sure. Got mine at the dollar store.
  5. Nice work Wood. I bet their all happy with their new belts.
  6. I don't know anything about the maker of either one. But your right the tray is for tacks, nails and anything else you want to put in it. The rawhide on the maul looks like it needs to be replaced but is still usable.
  7. When i dye the edges on a headstall i use regular Fiebings black or brown and wool dobber before i burnish and it works fine.
  8. Dave, nice job on your bear and tracks.
  9. Siegel of California has it. They have a banner add at the top of the page.
  10. On the couple of tobacco pouches i made i used 69 thread. Be sure to back stitch at the ends so it won't unravel.
  11. I see the slots now. The washer had had most of it covered. I should of looked closer.
  12. Odin what i was thinking about when i said two pieces at 45 degrees was to have both of the pieces even. The top piece needs to moved over to be even with the bottom piece in your picture. Then you can slide your edger across and cut the angle. But it the one you have made works you don't need to change. Be sure and post a picture of what your making. John
  13. Nice job. Looks like coins stacked up.
  14. Nice job !! I would of never seen the spot if you hadn't pointed it out. I generally use resolene for a finish and some times saddlelac. Bad thing about the saddlelac is after you use it a couple of time it seems to want to splatter because the spreyer gets junk in it and i never have been able to get clean. You boy is gonna love it.
  15. Thanks Jeeperaz and Particle. The links worked doing that. I've had the paper wheels for about 10 years and never had any luck with them but i think i'll try again.
  16. Tal none of the kinks work. They all go to a add site.
  17. Nice job. If you make some more i would put the rivets under the cross instead of on top. You will need to hold the straps out the way and it might be tight sewing but you can do it.
  18. I had a customer that wanted the same thing but we never got togeather on a price. What we came up with was making the bag what ever size you want. On the outside of the bag we had a place for two bottles that were inverted so you could draw the medicine without having to dig in the bag for them. The outside pockets need to be made to fit the bottle you want to use and have a flap over if your regular bag flap won't cover the bottle. You have a bag to use and your bottles on the outside. Make what ever size works for you. Here's a poor drawing of what i was going to make.
  19. Great job Kevin !! I don't carry a billfold but if i did i'd like to have one of yours.
  20. I said, they MIGHT be the same way when their materials and work when i was talking about the quality of their cards. Not that they WERE. I want to see something they have done to. But what do i know not much.
  21. When i get cards i get raised ink printing. It cost a little more but it sure does look nice. Homemade cards make me think that if the person is to cheap to get a better grade card they might be the same with with the materials and quality of their work. It's like a first impression when you meet somebody some you like right off the bat and others you don't. Plus you can take the cost of the cards off of your taxes.
  22. You could braid it but if it's pretty thick i don't think it would look to good. You might try a little bit and see.
  23. Thank you i'll look and see what i can find.
  24. Good brushes are something i need to get. I have to order just about every thing i need. Does anybody know of a good brand ?
  25. Leather Roo that is neat design you have on the seat and it looks great. I have a question did you dye around the skull and horns with a brush then use a dabber or sheep skin piece to dye the rest ? I have tried using a brush to get up close on designs and it was a PITA..LOL.
