  1. Just guessing again cause you haven't said what the problem is to little and wollbie i guess. I would build a box around the pedal the same shape, and the size you want for your foot or feet to set on. Plus i would glue some of the stuff you put in your cabinets to keep dishes from sliding around on the bottom. I'm not sure what it's called but ya can get it wal mart and i'm sure lots of other places. I put it under my cutting board to keep it from sliding around.
  2. Are you talking about the pedal that have a little button on the top ? If you are and want something bigger to put your foot on you could make a box with a hole in it for the pedal to set in with just the button sticking out. You could build that on a angle or flat. If your taking about something else a picture would help.
  3. All of the diamond saw blades i have ever used were pretty thick. The metal wouldn't be to hard to cut but what are ya going to cut the diamond with ?
  4. Hi Richard, it looks nice to me. But one thing that does stand out to me is the three rivets. I think you need a little wider strap if you want to use 3 rivets, they seem crowded. To me 2 rivets one above the other one or sewing it would look better using that width strap. JMHO and it aint worth much.
  5. Real nice work ! Somebody is gonna be happy when they get it. John

  9. I have a Singer patcher and i think it's a 29-4. I'll check tomorrow and make sure.
  10. Freki you do nice work and the harness looks great on him / her.
  11. They are two different things creasers are used to crease. I guess you could use it for that though. I think you will be money ahead to use dividers / compass for laying out your sewing line. A creaser doesn't look like it would be as easy to use espically around a tight inside cure. But i might be wrong.
  12. Hi kate i have a phone number 217 543 3464 for a place that has Landis 16 parts. They may be able to help you out or may know where you can get one.
  13. Thanks Clay. After i wrote the question i though well that's a stupid question. The maker can do both sides if they want or just the front side.
  14. Do you color the back side to ?
  15. http://www.pilgrimshoemachine.com/ is a good place to look for parts. I had one of those machines for several years and their fine for sewing straight lines and mild curves. If you want to sew harness you need to make a plate and take the rounded shoe plate off. I made my plate out of 1/4 thick steel plate i think. You can make a pttern in about 10 minutes out of poster board. I used regular nylon for top and bottom no problem. Number 6 needles is what i used with number 6 thread. I don't remember what size awl because it came with several awls. Bite the bullet and buy 10 pack of needles it will save you a bunch of money over buying 10 packs. The last i bought was $150.00 for a 100 pack versus $3.00 a piece when i bought a 10 pack and that was several years ago. I think i got the needles from New England Needle. Both of those prices was several years ago. The harness guide i used didn't work to well. It better and quicker scribeing a line and sewing free hand.
  16. Wildrose count me in. John
  17. On your holster i would bring the front up to the sight or close to it and then round it off flowing back back to the trigger guard, Plus i would come up behind and cover a little bit of the trigger guard. I think it makes for a more secure holster. That's the way i make my holsters. That doesn't mean it's the rigyht way or the only way just the way i do it. The times i have made one they turned out to be a PITA to get right. Nice job on yours.
  18. Nice real nice !!
  19. Da Coda, the guitar has two buttons on it for the strap to fasten on to. The hole and slit in the ends go over the button. The T shaped piece in the picture goes through the slots on the other end and goes on to the guitar. The picture shows how it goes.
  20. DJ i bet you have one made cheaper than you can buy and have it mailed to you. I'll take some pictures of mine and send to you if you want. Theirs not to much to one. John
  21. Great job !!! I wish the play things i make looked that nice !!
  22. You have some nice knives and the sheaths are great to. I've never seen the design you have the sheath with the white handled knife. It's neat.
  23. Hi Da Coda, i've made 15 or 20 straps over the years. This is how i made mine. First thing is get you some poster board and draw it out and cut it out. That way you make sure things fit before you cut your leather. Instead of a hole make a smaller hole and cut a slit to slide over the buttons. The front end needs to taper down to around 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 inches so theirs not so bluck. On the other end i make a rounder end instead of the T shape. Puch a slout in the round end to run the strap through after you have the length you want.
  24. Warhorse if i was you i'd get the deepest throat cylinder arm machine i could afford and one that would sew quite a bit heavier than you think you want. I belive you will be alot happier in the long run. Most of the bigger machines will sew down to a 2 piece chap leather thickness and up to a inch or close to it. I have been down the road of narrow throat and lighter machines. Finally wised up and borrowed the money and got a big machine with a deep throat 15 years ago. That was the best money i ever spent. If where you live is like around here you need to be able to sew all kinds of things to stay in business, not just what you want to make.
