  1. This is interesting news! I see that they have a blue stain that I want to try in the water base. From the minwax website it looks like they can mix custom colors as well. Finally something to do with that tote filled with scrap! If you have any pictures of your experimental pieces I would like to see them. Thanks for bringing up this interesting topic! Oh yeah you were dead on about the price. I had no idea it was so cheap.
  2. Don't look now but there is a spider right over your head!

  3. That's what she said!

  4. Here is the deal. Before wiser heads come in and prevail I am always up for trying anything just to see what it will do. Coffee/espresso dye, ah yup check. Berry stain dye, check. So if you have some scrap and a friend that already has some of this stuff give it a try. Oh and be sure to let me know how it turns out. I still think that the spirit and or oil leather dye is cheaper even with shipping though. Could be wrong though. One of the last things I do after I finish a project is to condition the leather.
  5. Nice job! Welcome to Leatherworker. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work.

  9. Thanks everyone. It was a lot of fun doing it. Thanks 'Roo Kate I was finishing the jacket hours before the party and just got the sleeves hemmed before I had to get ready. Tasha that vambrace looking nice is a big credit to your help. Mooshi no the boots are made by a shop up in Idaho that I think has since moved on. They wear well and the buffalo is really tough but comfortable. Thank you RS Sara that is why I like your mom. BAM! Thanks George! Maybe someday I will get a real kilt!
  10. I like it, show off! :D But I am biased too. One small tip from me and I will shut up. resize your photos before posting down to the 900x480 or whatever it is range so they don't come up so over whelming. It is just me I like to be able to take it in and have it just fit with in the screen. That's all.
  11. Superb! A symphony of beauty. I have got a lot of inspiration from his work too. It is really nice to see someone put that into leather.
  12. But I'll tell you what - after seeing Los Angeles, and this here story I'm about to unfold, well, I guess I seen somethin' every bit as stupefyin' as you'd seen in any of them other places. And in English, too. So I can die with a smile on my face, without feelin' like the good Lord gypped me.

  13. I haven't bought an oblong punch yet. So I use the "Punch holes and join them together with a chisel, Chisel point exacto, or cut them together with a straight edge and utility knife" method. Always cut away from the punched hole and never into it with a utility knife. Tim

  21. Amen Luke, AMEN! I can even learn something from that poor closed off gent. An example of arrogance slamming the door in the face of knowledge and new wonders.
  22. The Tree Faerie mask is looking awesome!

  23. Just finished the leather (leatherneck?) collar with "Airship Master Pilot" emblem tooled into it. Now here is the whole costume complete.
