  1. Oops I mean my other right.... But I guess when I think about it a little it depends upon which side I get up on ... I don't do any roping so I am more of a pleasure rider I guess. My girl will chase cows all day if I let her.
  2. Thanks for the reply Tim. I usually put my macate rope on my right side under my belt on my jeans. Do you have any suggestion as to which side would be a proper side or not, for chaps and chinks?? Thanks Joel
  3. That saddle looks really nice. But I have to ask. What makes it the type of saddle you call it? Can you point out the features that make it what you call it?
  4. Thanks for the reply Steve. Is the wire wheel you're referring to one that goes on a dremel or drill?
  5. I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions for, or about putting a get down loop on chaps or chinks? Style, location. do it, don't do it? Any ideas anyone? I am asking for opinions as well as design help. I have seen them, but I would like some more info in my hands, before I build a pair with a get down loop holder on them. Thanks Joel
  6. Denise Ya know , young lady. The more I hear you talk ( read your words) the more I like you. You seem to me to have a very good head on your shoulders. You know your product and stand your ground when it is being discussed. You also seem to have a heart of gold when it comes to sharing your knowledge. A sometimes rare thing now days. Thank you for being here. Joel
  7. That saddle has a great look. I love ruff-out! I have always found on my friends saddles that are ruff out, that they start off looking real nice , but soon don't. With dirt and oil from use soon mixing into a big dirty mess. I would like to ask, How would a person go about keeping a saddle as beautiful as the rough-out one pictured above, looking beautiful? Is there a secret method, Or, am I missing the point? Thanks Joel
  8. Josh, are these pink chinks being sold for the cancer pink campaign? They look really nice. I can see you have been busy. How small is the little pair? Joel
  9. Well to tell the truth, I did think about that. As you can see I chose to go against the grain to make the pocket stand out. All my latest chinks have pockets that stand out from the chink body. I'm really pushing chinks with pockets for the riders with cell phones. That way if someone should fall or there is some sort of an accident the cell phone will most likely be there to use. I also am selling my chinks below the market to get more chinks out and in use by our local riders. We need some spiffen up around here! Thanks for taking a look, and the thoughts and suggestions. Joel
  10. Now that is some nice work! It looks very comfortable for the horse too!
  11. Here's a new pair of chinks I just finished. The pocket button I made from a deer antler. .
  12. Now that is very cool! Will you share with me what type and color the seat leather is? I just love the color and it looks so soft! Thanks Joel
  13. ahhhh Ross...... While I can't find anything to disagree with in your post I will add this. If there were never any conversations to sit around and stew about stuff,,,, we'd all be working way to much. Joel
  14. Rod and Denise Nikkel You folks are bit of fresh air , in a often time stale world.
  15. I looked at all three threads you posted, I must say that you have a very nice touch with the paint brush. What paint do you use to get the metallic look ? I'm guessing that they are cell phone cases? It's hard to get a size of the cases from the photos. They sure are nice. I love you style! You have differently been touched by the creative muse.
  16. What a great photo shot! Just look at all the dynamics going on in that one photo! Muscle strain , saddle rise,. rider position Again a great shot! Do you remember if the shot was of a bounce during the slide stop, or is the horse doing a fast back up?
  17. Thanks guys! I find it amazing how much there is to learn . Even after a good long time of working leather apparently. Thanks you all again for taking the time to share with us newbe's at this forum. Joel

  21. Rod and Denise Nikkel Thank you for the reply. It was stated very clearly and I now know what I need to do. Thanks again! Grampa Joel
  22. When measuring for a saddle tree, do you measure for when the horse is fat after winter or in shape after summer? My mare gains a lot of weight in the winter. But she looses it during the riding season. So when do I measure for a saddle tree that will fit her best? Thanks Grampa Joel
